Does Caster Gilgamesh's Skill Work on Archer Arturia's NP?

Hello everyone.

As the title suggests, I would like to clarify this, as I have seen some conflicting information about it, so the question with all the specifics is as follows:

Does Caster Gilgamesh's third skill, 'Sovereign of Magical Wands', which at max level gives a 30% party Arts buff AND a 30% party debuff success rate for 3 turns, work on Archuria's Noble Phantasm, regarding her 70% chance to reduce the NP gauge of the enemy she attacks with it? This is specifically regarding the debuff success rate, of course, so does that success rate buff effect the NP gauge chance, or does that not count as a debuff for some reason?

If it does work, I would imagine that is a ridiculously powerful combo for an Arts team with these two, and I'd love to be able to have that in my arsenal.

Thank you in advance, guys!

Yeah I think because it is debuff anyway. But sorry I wont guarantee that.

Indeed Gil is excellent as support for art team, but still dual Tamamo or Tamamo+Waver are still major recommendation.

Thank you. I unfortunately lack an SSR Caster, so I am hoping for either Tamamo or Waver on the guaranteed (Tamamo would be perfect for my NP2 Archuria and NP4 level 90 Saber Lancelot). Getting one of the top tier supports would be fantastic, and could really help some of the very strong Arts servants I have. At least I did get one good Arts support in CasGil now.

I'm fine with Sanzang too though, honestly, as a totally lack a single target offensive Caster too, and she's great at that (I also like her), so the guarantee will be good for me no matter what happens, I look forward to it.

Yeah. GSSR's all three casters are great. Sanzang will be very well after her interlude strengthening. Even without that, her 3rd skill is still golden ranked. Thus far you can pair Gil with friend's Tamamo with Archuria, it is good enough thus far, but not quite consistency in a future fight since enemy will have more hp or multi hp bar.
And I am still not sure whether Gil's 3rd skill will add buff to Archuria.

It works but it’s not guaranteed, either with Tamamo 1st skill max level because enemies have debuff resistance. But 100% is still better than 70%.

Ah of course, good point! That being said, it does raise it to 100%, very good to know, thank you!

No, it isn't a debuff. A Debuff is status effects like def down, atk dow, np seal, stun or charm. An instant effect like NP drain doesn't count as a debuff. Actually NP Drain isn't affected by any kind of debuff resistance either, Arts would be shit for certain fights if that were the case.

So yeah, stick with Tamamo+Mash or Tamamo+Waver for Archuria. Munenori is a different story since his stuff isn't NP drain but atk down (an actual debuff).

So it doesn't work at all? Some people are saying it does, I guess I gotta test it out. If it really did work with her NP spam, it would probably be too good to be true, but NP gauge decrease not being a debuff is still a bit strange.

I lack any SSR Casters, so if I want Waver or Tamamo (I would prefer the latter to complete my Arts viability, since I have so many strong Arts offensive servants), I gotta wait for the guaranteed gacha next month. I'll give CasGil a shot with Archuria at some point, I'm sure he's still pretty useful for her anyway.

Thanks!

It doesn't. Tamamo lv 10 Witchcraft never fails and Waver's NP never fails to do that (it can fail on the stun or the defense down because those are debuffs, the NP drain never fails). I have tried it a lot since i own a Tamamo, NP Drain is reliable.

It makes sense because NP drain isn't a status effects. You can look at all status effects (buff and debuffs) on the wiki: https://fategrandorder.fandom.com/wiki/Status_Effects#Debuffs

Just to make stuff clear, NP loss is a debuff that reduces your np gauge at the end of each turn (a blue icon appears below the servants portrait). It's the opposite of NP gain per turn, it's not instant NP drain.

Caster Gil is good overall, Waver and Mash are better Tamamo buddies, but he does a good work.
