Lancer on par with Scat is her disciple, both Chu version.
Good free Lancer exist in game ( Roma, Chu brothers, Diarmuid, Leonidas and Hector ).
Roma is a 4 star/SR in terms of skill, stat and his overall performance. Especially he has extraordinary higher stat than most 3 star servants ( honestly, his weakness is his costume design ).
Both Chu lancers lean towards survivalist while Scat is One spear women.
For the Crit damager/free Burst damager there's Proto Chu, equip him with Crit damage up, Quick up or etc and he can burst down some neutral/archer/berserker boss for you.
Chu brothers lacking in damage, as they're leaning more into Durable DPS/damager.
That's the first option.

Here's what you're looking for, as would like to see those massive damage :
There's Tamamo, Li Shuwen, Lancer Alter, Brynhildir who can do similiar job as Scat.
For the burst style A.K.A OHKO 1 turn kill there's Scat for the quick, Li Shuwen for the Art, Brynhildr, Tamamo Shark and Lancer Alter for the Buster.

You can pick one, you choose Scat and Merlin can't buff your Scat ''effectively''.
You choose Merlin, he turn every Buster servants to a monster and only can use general buff to Scat.
Also you can choose both, though it's up to you.

I have Li and Proto Chu as my Crit Lancer, so i'm fine and they're doing their job well.
Also everyones favorite, the Cockroach OG Chu. My favorite servant and soloist : )

Don't forget that we get welfare lily Jeanne alter lancer for Christmas if you are short on golden lancers. She is AoE np rather than st np like scathach, but cu chulainn does a pretty good job for st np needs with an np bar that fills faster than scathach anyway.
