Boss Analysis

  • Goetia is the only enemy in this encounter.
  • Compared to the previous encounter with him as the King of Demon Gods, this encounter is much easier.
  • Goetia has a plethora of skills at his disposal that he will use quite often, although the most threatening of his skills (instant full NP charge) is not used until certain conditions are met:
    • When Goetia’s HP falls below 200,000HP – 300,000HP, he will use his 10th skill, which charges his NP gauge fully, and reduces his HP to 1. He then will use his NP on the same turn, which will likely kill the entire front line if they are not protected.
    • It is possible to avoid this by saving up an NP until he can be bursted down from above 300,000 health to 0 in one turn. However, if you can somehow block the damage via Evade or Invincibility, or have a remaining back line Servant, Goetia will be left with 1 HP remaining and can be easily killed the next turn as well.
  • He has three varieties of normal attacks, each of which hit multiple times but only hit a single target. Each attack can inflict a debuff that is tied to the animation of the attack. These debuffs include NP damage down (3 hit attack), Crit damage down (12 hit attack), and NP generation down (4 hit attack). Each of these versions can also Crit, although the hit counts and animations are the same during a crit. Due to his high hit counts, he fills the NP gauge of Servants quickly, which makes this fight a bit more manageable as it is easier to get more NPs off in this encounter.

Team Composition Recommendations

  • Goetia has a passive buff that renders class advantage damage ineffective. He receives 1.0x damage from all classes. Note that Rider and Ruler classes still receive 0.5x damage from him, while Assassins receive 2.0 damage from him due to class advantage. All other classes receive 1.0x damage from him.
  • Goetia will reduce all NP gauges to 0% at the start of the fight, bringing Starting NP gauge is thus not ideal.
  • For the most part, his damage does not pose a threat except for his NP. His NP can be easily avoided by using Evade or Invincibility skills on the turn his gauge is full (barring when his HP falls below 200,000-300,000 HP, where he may suddenly charge his gauge fully and NP on the same turn).
  • It is useful to bring Servants that have some type of Evade or Invincibility skill, preferably those that can grant it to the whole party (Merlin, Jeanne d’Arc, David, Tristan).
  • If lacking the firepower to burst him from above 300,000 HP to 0 HP, an alternative is to bring Servants that can stall (Merlin, Waver, Mash, Jeanne d’Arc, Tamamo-no-Mae, Hans Christian Andersen) to survive the sudden NP when he crosses the HP threshold. Afterwards, it is easy to eliminate him when he is left with 1 HP.
