Difference between curse and burn

What is the difference? It seems they are both deal damage per turn.

It seems they are all the same:
Poison, burn and curse.
I suppose they are only there to interact with some servants specific skill or NP
Say Robin's poison work well with his NP and some future servants will have new skill/upgrade to increase burn damage by %

Edit: I guess your question can be said the same for charm and stun

In the case of charm and stun, IIRC, there are specific CEs that increase charm success, I think. So theoretically (maybe for real, but can't recall an instance of it) where something has burn/poison/curse resistance or weakness.

And, for example, arts/quick/buster damage is all just damage, but we have specific instances where there's a buff/debuff to that type of damage.

No real difference. And the damage they deal depends on the skill/NP that causes it.

For Curse, however, Dantes will have an NP upgrade in the future that gives him Evil Curse, an debuff on the enemy which will boost the effects of Curse. I can't remember if a similar debuff exists for Burn.

DOT doesn't do enough damage especially after you look at the numbers. It almost look like the mechanic was there for bosses against us. 500-1000 hp per turn definietly cause lot more damage on us than a boss with 1m hp

True. It's appreciated, but not overly helpful to players unless it's early game where enemies have only a few thousand HP. Against bosses and late-game, we'd have to apply several burns/curses/poisons (with as much overcharge as possible if it affects the DoT) to make a decent dent per turn, which just isn't feasible for the most part.

Though it did help me against Siegfried in last year's Nero Fest so I guess it could be counted as a niche/gimmick counter. And I think those same exhibition battles will be returning this year in addition to a new set of exhibition matches.

Kiyohime’s future Strengthening gives her Morph a bonus that increases burn damage. I’m pretty sure Poison has one too, somewhere.

One major difference is that Curse can be stacked, but Burn (and Poison) cannot. According to the FGO wikia, the future Shimosa update will allow those to stack as well, but until then only Curse does.

I've also seen several instances where the DoT effects won't kill, only reduce to 1HP. I haven't been able to narrow down exactly when that happens, but it might be a subtle difference between the three DoT effects.
