I am a new player so Gamepress tier list kinda helps me decide servants to spend resources on, but for future Servants and even CE that is already available in JP but not in NA, which one should I keep a look out for ?
You'll want to make sure to complete the C.C.C. event to add B.B. to your roster. She's the only Moon Cancer servant for a long time and her kit is very strong so you do not want to miss her, especially since the next rerun is over 2 years away.
It really depends on the play style you want. I’ll just list everything notable that’s coming:
MARCH: Gudaguda rerun (which means Okita is back) and Arthur Pendragon drops with the Chaldea Boys event. Arthur is more of a husbando than a great unit right now...I hope he gets buffed because I want him regardless. Mordred and Altera totally outclassed him at the moment, but he has a niche against Large opponents (like those AOE giant dragons). Otherwise, he’s Artoria with a different flavor. Chaldea Boys DOES have some nice CEs (and male SSRs on rate up with Arthur; different one every day) but they’re hard to MLB because the gacha is so packed with goodies. Talk of the Hot Sands is the best pick, imo.
APRIL/MAY: CCC/SE.RE.PH event releases the new Alter Ego class—4* Passionlip, 5* Melt, and 5* Kiara. We also get welfare BB, the only Moon Cancer in the game until her summer incarnation next year.
—> 4* Passionlip is probably your best bet. She’s more accessible and a good buster tank, especially after this strengthing quest arrives.
—> 5* Melt is helpful for certain upcoming quests in NeroFest and Salem, but she’s quick based so maybe awkward to use if you don’t use quick teams.
—> 5* Kiara is Arts-based and not so great on release and is very skill dependent but she’s a premium CQ clearer in JP right now. I’ll be rolling for her.
—> 4* MoonCancer BB is a welfare. Resists berserkers. NP5. Semi-support and can crit. Get her.
April will also see a new limited 5* Berserker and a 4* welfare Berserker Cha Cha.
JUNE should be the release of the next story chapter, Agartha. The servants from this aren’t too notable (5* Caster Scheherazade is very niche) but there will be rate ups for Drake, Herc, and d’Eon. That said, mostly bait because summer and the anniversary are coming.
JULY/AUGUST: Gives is a lot. All of last year’s summer servants will be back plus new summer servants PLUS the anniversary and Sherlock Holmes.
*** Summer Gacha 1 ***
—> 5* Caster Nero is a great unit. QAABB deck with a Buster NP, amazing hitcounts and NP gain, and a defensive skill that wipes out her class weakness. Plays very very nicely with Tamamo and Merlin. Definitely the star pick.
—> 4* Saber Fran is #justice4fran. Amazing NP spam potential and good hitcounts. Quick based.
—> 4* Berserker Nobu
—> 4* Assassin Nitocris isn’t too amazing...she’s a lot like Summer Schathach from last year.
*** Summer Gacha 2 ***
—> 5* Rider Artoria Alter is quick-based. Like best Sith Lord and Melt, she doesn’t get super super good under Skadi comes in 2020.
—> 4* Archer Helena
—> 4* Lancer Raikou is like a better Lancer Alter. Buster crit lancer with an ST NP instead of AOE. Lots of people are saving for her.
*** Holmes Gacha ***
—> 5* Ruler Sherlock Holmes (not caster, RULER) is our premier Arts Crit semi-support. His NP reduces enemy defense and increases your crit damage. Pair him with CasGil, Saberlot, Hans, Merlin, Nursery, etc and have fun NP spamming and critting for massive amounts. I’m rolling for him.
Holmes was on rate up with singularity banners. TBD if we’ll get those too.
SEPT: NeroFest. Bride and Bryn are back.
SEPT/OCT: Shimosa drops, so Musashi is back. Also Merlin should be back around this time.
—> 4* Saber Yagyu is the premier pick from this Gacha. He’s the arts counterpart to Musashi and has one of the best burst turns in the game.
OCT: Halloween rerun means you can get Saber Liz and Cleo, but it also means it’s time to pick up Mecha Eli-Chan or Mecha Eli-Chan mk. II. This is an Alter Ego welfare Liz. Definitely don’t skip.
NOV/DEC: Salem drops. This introduces the Foreigner class with 5* Abigail Williams. She has a QAAAB deck with an ST Buster NP but is let down by high cooldowns and low NP gain. Tamamo makes her very good.
DEC: Christmas rerun gives us another chance at Ishtar but the new Christmas event gives us best goddess Ereshkigal. She’s a semi-support 5* Lancer.
At the end of the year or on the 1st, we’ll get the 5* Foreigner Hokusai. She’s an Arts AOE Foreigner and is MUCH better than Abby. She can NP loop for farming with Bride and Tamamo support (or from Paracelsus after his SQ) and does super super well in Arts Crit teams.
*SOMETIME* this year we’ll get a Parvati banner. (Probably March with the HF movie.) She’s a 4* lancer. Don’t know too much about her gameplay since she’s quite rare.
Those are the highlights...the FGO wiki has JP’s 2017 schedule so you can see which banners and servants they got.
A few things I forgot to mention—
—> EVENT CEs are usually very good. Make sure to pick up an MLB copy of Golden Sumo during Onigashima or Rashomon. (Not sure which one...both are Juneish) It’s one of the best in the game.
—> 3* Lancer Hozouin is on one of the Shimosa banners. Very easy to np5 and controls the field. Really, really solid f2p option for hard content.
—> We’ll get a 4* ticket around the anniversary, probably August. Exchangeable for any non-limited 4* (so no welfare’s and no passionlip iirc). As always, pick characters you want/waifus/husbandos, not characters you think you need for gameplay.
—> It’s worth saving some quartz to roll on the NeroFest and Christmas (not rerun Christmas) banners and getting the gacha CEs which increase event currency drops. These are lotto box events with unlimited resets. Christmas has secret skill gems and bronze apples, so it’s particularly lucrative. The more event currency drops you get per run, the more AP efficient you are. Definitely worth your quartz. I’d look up what the best nodes are and start raising those servants with class advantage NOW. Save apples for these events, too.
—> Clear the story (up to Solomon) BEFORE the SE.RA.PH event in May. Otherwise you won’t be able to get BB. Ushiwakamaru, Cú Lancer, Robin Hood, David, Euryale, Caesar, Fergus, Bedivere, Hans, Georgios, Medea, Arash, Spartacus, and Mash are your best bets to raise right now if you want to get through the story. (Realistically you should raise all the 1-3* Tier 1 and 2 servants.) Euryale will be a godsend during the Camelot chapter and Caesar and Fergus will be worth their weight in gold towards the end of Babylonia. Robin can deal with any troublesome rider enemies except a certain boss on Babylonia, but you can borrow a Jack the Ripper or Heracles for her.
Hello, good write up, but one thing to note. Moon cancer class counters avenger, not berserkers. Foreigners counter berserker.
If you just want a definitive list of essential servants to get in 2019:
1. Nero Caster (August - she comes back once next year)
2. Merlin (September - he doesn't come back)
3. Ereshkigal (December - she comes back once next year)
4. Altria Archer (July - she doesn't come back again)
The amount of utility you can get out of these servants is massive as they fit in a large variety of teams. Melt is also pretty good to pick up, but I'd stay away from quick servants for now unless you have jack/okita.

It will probably be listed as the 900 or 1000 DL campaign for NA though.
Similarly, if they follow japan we should also see an extra Nero Caster as part of the New Year 2021 campaign.
Alteregos in May (in a event who will give you very good Mooncancer BB), Foreigners in December and January are priority.
Also, Holmes Ruler in the anniversary.

- BB Moon Cancer ( a farmable Jackpot, strong and very rare servant ), S.E.R.A.P.H/C.C.C. Around May. Art Moon Cancer.
- Kintoki Rider ( a farmable Jackpot, broken servants ), Onigashima re-run. Around June. Quick Rider.
- Scathach Assassin, Summer re-run. Around July. Quick Assassin.
- Ishtar Rider ( another farmable jackpot, strong servant ), Summer 2/dead heat summer race. Around August. Quick Rider.
- Saber Elizabeth ( if you don't have Musashi or any strong ST saber, she can do the job ), Halloween 2 re-run. Around October. Buster saber.
- Alter Ego Mecha Elizabeth a.k.a mecha godzilla and Lancer Mecha Elizabeth MK II, Halloween 3. Around November. I recommend the Alter Ego version, because alter ego is also rare and you can only choose one and we get Christmas 2 re-run which containt Lancer Jalter Loli. Both are Buster.
- Lancer Jalter Loli/ Jeanne D'Arc Santa Alter Lily ( strong Lancer and overall she's a solid servants ), Christmas 2 re-run, Around November. Buster Lancer.
- Archer Santa Attila/Altera loli ( another Jackpot, strong servant ), Christmas 3. Around December. Quick Archer.
All mentioned welfare rarities here are SR/4*.

You're pretty lucky for a new player, make sure to catch them all and save tons of apples.
Minor correction: both versions of Mecha Eli-chan are Alter Egos. The two servants are mechanically identical, if you’ll pardon the pun—the only differences are aesthetic.
