Merlin Question

Hi, just a quick question...

I played FGO when it came out but then lost all my data. I’d like to try starting again but wanted to reroll for either Merlin or Ishtar when they came out. However I was wondering, will Merlin be from a story gatcha, as in I have to clear to a specific point to be able to roll for him? Just wondering if I should start saving quartz now or if I can reroll when he comes out. It’s been a while so I forget how everything works. Thanks!

Merlin is limited servant which means you can only gocha him in specific summoning poll, like this winter and another one is almost next September. Otherwise you may have him in 3 lucky bag summon but the chance is also RNG approximately to 0.
Beside of that, his is limited, no way to summon him. Rin is the same. In specific summoning pool, they are waiting for you to burn the money no matter what your story progress it is. If you missed the time for their summon pool, they will never shown up

The tutorial summon doesn't let you get ssrs anymore so You'll be looking at 1 reroll every week. I definitely won't recommend you purchase an account on ebay for 8 dollars that has 2000 quartz from account farmers because that would be immoral and against the spirit of DW. I definitely can't recommend that when searching for an account you buy from someone with good reviews to ensure their quality. I would never suggest that DW has almost never released banwaves for buying accounts. I don't suggest the fgo account trading subreddit and epicnpc.com for accounts.
