NP Defense Gain

Does anybody know if NP gain raising skills like Golden Rule also affect NP gained through defense? Or does it only affect NP gained through attack?

No it doesn't based on my tests. It only increases gain through attack and if it does that would make gaining NP easier though. Just correct me if I'm wrong.

It counts for all NP gain including def.

Actually I'm wrong. The feel when something you've believed for over a year turns out to be a lie :O

lol honestly I believed it to affect both too for a long time too but I was beginning to think that I may have been wrong hence why I felt the need to ask :)

It affects both.
Drake without Golden Rule and taking damage = 3-4% per hit
Drake with Golden Rule and taking damage = 4-5% per hit

It doesn't Mash without gets 3-4%, mash with 360% NP gain up gains 3-4%.

Mash's NP Gain expires after your attack turn. It's not even there when the enemy attacks.

And now having finally found the NP charge rate formula it seems they should affect it... even though Mash's NP gain up skill definitely doesn't? I've no idea whats going on here honestly I chose mash to check because her huge NP gain mod would make it obvious and it doesn't seem to have an effect yet Squal says golden rule does and the formula says it should sooooooooo I've really got no idea whats going on here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
