Her brave chains seem different to all other servants and I have two questions:
1) What is her best chain for NP bar gain and crit star generation? From my experience it seems to be arts-buster-buster for NP gain, maybe B-B-A if she will crit on her arts? I never use her for crit star generation because she's always appeared to be awful at it ('decent star generation' my ass). Her hit info is at the bottom, stolen from her servant page
2) any other servants who also stray from the usual brave chain combinations for damage, NP gain and/or crit star generation?

Yes. Lancer Scathach gets slightly better NP gain from ABB chain than an AQQ chain due to the hit count. It's usually better to start her brave chains with the arts card for maximum NP gain.
Gilgamesh also has decent NP gain from his buster cards, having 5 hits on them, but since he has a QAABB deck, he doesn't run into the issues that Scathach does.
Have you tried a QBB chain on her? I always get about 20-22 stars on her with that. Also a QBA chain works fine for generating a bit of both stars and np especially if she crits.
Now you suggest it, it seems so obvious lol I don't believe I've ever tried that before. I likely did a ABQ or AQQ at some point and decided I would never touch her quick cards again without at least her NP and 2nd skill active
