Summer Event: What does the (Max: #) mean for drops?

So if you go into the event nodes it usually says Max: ___ some kind of number. What does this number mean? So for example for "Dead Coast - Annihilation" quest, it lists "Eternal Gear x1 27.40% (Max: 6)" does this mean you can only get up to 6 gears for this specific quest throughout the whole event? If so does it mean when I get 6 from this quest can I farm the other earlier quests for these gears and the same restriction applies?

And... is there anyway to track how many you've gotten so far from a specific quest?
