who to max first?

I started a few months ago for fun, but I'm trying to take the game a little more seriously. I'm slowly working my way through Camelot, and I'm wondering who I should max level first.
Currently the only 5 stars I have are Mordred and Altria lancer. (spent a lot of quartz today just trying to get Cu alter to no avail lol). I only have enough material to max level one of my 5 stars.
Which one would be more useful for camelot and going forward?

For Camelot, Mordred of probably more useful in at least two of the final boss fights.
Overall I guess Altria Lancer is a little bit better, but if you have to pick one of them I'd decide depending on the SR and low tier servants you have. It seems to me good AoE lancers are less abundant than AoE sabers, so I'd go for Altria Lancer.

Thanks for the reply! I guess for now I'll keep going through Camelot and if I run into a lot of trouble i'll max out Mordred.

There's really no good answer in this situation since you're talking about a Saber and a Lancer respectively. Both are AoE type servants but ultimately, it all comes down to if you're lacking an AoE Saber or Lancer for daily quest farmings. Both will be useful down the line for something since they're both good servants and it's good if you're looking to level them both up eventually.

But since you're tight with resources, try to fill in a weak spot in your team by giving an advantage to the class that you need in this moment. Lancer Alter has the best Mana Burst in the game and a Charisma buff for the whole party while Mordred has innate NP charge + defense skill and a Mana Burst of her own. I suggest you look their profiles on GamePress if you're trying to pick "the best" option for your team but as i've said, it's best to improve on your weaknesses in your teams rather then trying to cherry pick the best servants in terms of gameplay.

Your gameplay can quickly take a hit if a challenge quest comes along with a particular class that you have the least servants to fight against and you're stuck trying to outsource from your friend list, having to forgo Waver/Merlin because you don't have a heavy hitter. It's perfectly fine to borrow strong servants from your friends but not all quests are created equal.

Thanks, I'll keep trying to round out the weaknesses on my own team. It's easy for me to fault the bad luck I've had rolling for SSR servants, but I'll keep looking for what works with what I have.
