I’m American but am moving to Japan in September. Like most people on here, I have invested a great deal of time and money on my Fate/Grand Order North American version. Will I be able to still use my FGO app when I go to Japan?
I plan on getting a new phone with a Japanese cell service when I get there but also keeping my current device to use on WiFi.

Well... I'm using a North American cell service and the Japanese version of F/GO works. Honestly, it doesn't fucking matter where your location is, because the app version determines what server you connect to. If it's the JP app, you connect to JP servers. If its the NA app, its the NA servers. Easy? Yeah.
It might take longer to connect to the servers though, but it's useable.
Note: I only have experience with Android devices so cannot confirm for iOS etc.
The FGO App will work as the app itself is not region specific, but you may not be able to download/update it through the Google Play Store.
That is easily worked around however by directly downloading and installing the apk (easily found using google http://lmgtfy.com/?q=fate+grand+order+apk).
However whenever a new FGO update is released you have to download a new apk.

It doesn't matter, you will have no problem to play rom Japan. I live in Russia, and I never had an issue with connexting to NA/JP FGO.
P.S. I play on IOS, but use NA/JP accounts since FGO is not available in my region store.
I played NA FGO before it was available in my country without any problems, so you should be fine.
This is on Android btw, but iOS should be similar, it just won't be as easy to update as it is on Android.
