New Servant Profiles - Feedback

Hey everyone,

We've been diligently working on improving the old Servant Profiles, mainly by trying to add some more new features that we can work on in the future. Naturally there's a lot of missing information we now have to work out, but hopefully the new profiles are a lot more useful now. We've enabled the new profiles for the upcoming Shinjuku Servants and the current top 10 Servants (Jeanne, Jalter, Hans, Mash, Merlin, Tamamo, MHXA among others).

There are a few errors we've noticed already:

  • The Servant Overview section is not showing under analysis (fixed)
  • The CE section is also not showing under analysis (fixed)
  • Attack/HP bar ranking error in lay-out (fixed)
  • Probably a few more issues, let us know if they pop up!

Nonetheless, we've added a tag system we can use in the future (which we intend to use to work Servant Synergies back in again) - although that's mainly a list of traits right now. And the profile is a lot more condensed, so you don't have to scroll down to see some essential stats (or check out skills).

In the meantime, please let us know what you think! Check out some the Servants with an updated profile! Any feedback you have might help us improve it more - and we intend to roll out the new profiles across the board in the coming week. Any readability issues, or lay-out problems (either on mobile or PC), please let us know as well!

Thanks!

When I am not Mysterious Heroine Z’s page when I select Stage 2-4 of her profile it just shows nothing.

Not sure if this is isolated.

Mysterious Heroine Z is an enemy only, not an obtainable servant, so she doesn't have subsequent profile updates. Much like Tiamat, Goetia and Solomon.

It would be nice to have an additional line saying that the unit is an NPC variant or non-obtainable, would be very helpful to the uninformed.

I've added it to the overview of a bunch of prominent NPC Servants, hopefully that helps.

Servants with high HP / ATK rank have too long green/red lines in stats info (on pc) (Jeannes for example).
Anyway implementation is obviously great

This is being fixed, thanks! Keep em coming!

From the start, I appreciate the inclusion of the future Strengthenings/Interludes, and the ETA. Some servants I would have skipped, but their skill upgrades are very good.

Recently I've noticed the update each servant's decks and hit counts, which is a wonderful addition.

Regarding the new segmentation of Servant Status/Analysis/Parameters, I noticed a lot of Parameters are incomplete, such as release date or STR/LCK/NP flavor stats. It's a bit hard to use but maybe it's because it's new.

Yes, that section simply needs to be updated by us with all the relevant (correct!) info. We've worked on making the base working first so we can input the information later.

If I can say the truth, I prefer the old version of servants' profiles. Both for mobile and desktop, it's better to have everything on a page, instead of switching between two or three buttons. Specially on mobile, when is better to scroll from up to down and vice versa, instead of searching everytime for the button.

That's absolutely fine - any feedback is welcome. We can use it to make a more mobile-friendly solution for example. Don't worry about sharing your thoughts.

I've actually shared your comments directly as it should be something we can address.

Edit: What about a sticky button that is always available - that way you can swap without having to scroll up?

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean with "sticky button", but if the meaning is a button that is always visible and follow the page when you scroll up and down, then maybe it is not a good solution. At least on mobile, because on mobile we have have a small screen and a button placed over the profile could cover the words that you want to read.

I see, what would be the solution you would prefer, if you don't mind me asking? Preferably with the new lay-out (because it has new sections the old one doesn't have) - if possible.

Mmm... maybe it could be a good idea to have a "lateral" menù. Just like the button you mentioned, but that remain on one side and with small dimension. This button will follow up and down when you scroll, and licking on this little menu (for example the simbol of the three line, tipical of mobile menu) will open a lateral menu when you can select either the voices "analisis", "profile" etc., or the single little voices.
And if I can give you a suggestion, it could be good to have both the HP and ATK of a servant with grail, without grail but with Fou and with both grail and Fou. Maybe writing also the QB Cost to graild for example from 80 and 100.

I've been meaning to post a few suggestions for a while, so now seems the opportune moment.

1) I think it would make sense to move the traits up to where the attributes and alignment are.

2) While the data is there in the graph, the stats table might be more easily used if it showed steps in grailing. The Max Grail is something that may not be frequently relevant (not many servants get to 100...) So for example for a 3*: "Max (L70)", "Grail (L80)", "Grail (L90)", "Grail (L100)". The graph is fine, but you can't see the numbers exactly without mousing over, and that makes comparisons more difficult.

3) I remember, particularly as a very new player, and even now when I'm not familiar with a servant's skill, that the skill recommendations are sometimes written with the assumption that you know the effects and CDs. But since the skill descriptions and the recommendations weren't together, you have to scroll around the page to look it up. I think it would be nice to have these two somehow together.

4) One other recommendation that could be made about skills is not just their priority, but both which are essential to get to L10, and which aren't. Some of this is said in the text, and you can probably assume that the 1st priority skill is probably worth taking to L10. But sometimes skills 2 and 3 are just what you want to get to L10 later, and sometimes it's not important at all. New players could probably use the guidance on how to spend their lores.

5) Another useful tip for newer players, or even players trying out how to use a servant that they've never thought about, is the kind of team they fit into. This is often said, or sometimes just implied, in the analysis, but having it be a standard section I think puts the analysis into context. Early on, I liked the servant synergies sections, but I think that gets a little too specific at times. Sometimes general recommendations are fine.

6) Along the same lines, I also think that instead of listing specific CEs, putting them in sections would also be helpful to newer players. When I started, I didn't know what CEs did by name, and there's a lot of them, often scaling up from 3* to 4* to 5*. So just grouping them in the table as "Starting NP charge" and under that have e.g., Dragons Meridian, Imaginary Element, and Kaliedoscope gives the player an idea. I also think it's a good idea for those of us with limited 4/5* CEs to know what 3* might fit the bill. Plus, sometimes there are far too many CEs of that type to list--and starting NP charge is getting to be one with a ton of event CEs that fall in the middle, with a number that are pretty good even if not turn 1 NP capable in general.

7) Lastly (and this is a completely separate suggestion), sometimes I need to find a CE or servant that has X ability--debuff resistance, NP charge, strong vs. divine, etc. It would be nice if there was a search system that gave you a way to get a list of possibilities.

Sorry for the long post :) I really love this site, and my learning curve for the game would have been a lot slower if it weren't for the great analysis and suggestions.

I can address a few at least:

1) Initially they were right below the profile, but that had problems on the mobile-version of the site. With HP and stars detached, it's been bumped down. We can probably put the traits above the Max HP/star & NP gain bit.

2) This might lead to a very long table - but it's something we can consider.

3) I fully agree - I actually thought we updated that with the new profile, but it appears we have not. I will follow up on this, it's needlessly...clicky and confusing.

4) Whether to get a skill to max is very subjective and, with lores limited, quite similar to grails. It's something we can think about, but I am hesitant to just say - "level this to 6 unless you really like x" because that's applicable most of the time. Then there are the preferences of players themselves - I swear by maxed NP charge skills, but some of the other writers might prefer having damage maxed because they have a MLB Kscope (heathens!). In any case - a short discussion on what level to be at might be more appropriate for the writeup part itself.

5) That's being worked on - those traits you see, we want to add tags for a Servant - you can then click on the tag to get a list of all Servants that are also, say, Buster ST Damage. Then that tag itself will recommend who to team someone with. But this is something we will come back to.

6) We are not happy with the current CE system because it's not very scaleable. The CE section gets longer and longer with more options, and they get outdated quite quickly (though the stats what to look for do not). If we'd include the budget version, the section would be crazy long. To fix that, we're working on something more scaleable - similar to the tags - that hopefully can alleviate this somewhat. Sadly, again something we'll have to come back to.

7) We do have some of that - in the form of the skills area - but that's not as well organized nor as useful as something you propose. It IS however, something we can work on with the tag system. Hopefully.

Thanks for the feedback, it does help us! And don't be afraid to chime in (the Discord is always a good way to get out attention quickly and directly)!

^ Yes, Zhiroc. All of this.

These new profiles are totally a step in the right direction. :) Love having hitcounts and stats towards the top especially.

A few UI notes, though—

• Some UI issues in mobile, particularly on Mash’s screen where the Show More button overlaps the skill name.

• Some text (data?) errors on Tamamo’s interlude/rank-ups

• HP/Atk graphs/rankings didn’t show on mobile; at least, they weren’t obvious to me

• With the analysis and skills being in separate tabs I’m clicking back and forth between the two. This is definitely not ideal and has the potential to get frustrating. I would take the section with the skill-by-level breakdown and merge it will the skill leveling recommendations section, so the drop down is next to the analysis.

^ Similarly, I don’t want the passives and NP on a separate tab from the analysis. Then I have to scroll up, change tabs, scroll back down, read what I wanted, scroll back up, switch back, and scroll back down to where I was reading. Too many steps.

It might be better to use accordions if you’re concerned with scroll length.

Yeah, requiring multiple clicks/scrolling is something we should aim to avoid as much as possible. Thanks for the feedback, IIRC the rankings are currently disabled to fix some issues with it but will be back soon for the new profiles.

Anyway, visual clutter can obviously be fixed - but usability seems like a good issue to tackle from this point.

I really like a lot of the design, but I don't like how much I have to scroll to get to the tab header. I would consider either putting the information in Stats and Summary into it's own tab, or perhaps the top of the status tab.

Noted! Thanks, it is in line with previous comments about the scrolling.

Really like the new format that you guys are doing! Just a few things to comment on. Are you still going to do the attack and HP ranking comparison? I didn't find it anywhere, and it was something nice that I could reference.
For the NP, could you make the format somewhat similar to the way you did the skills? Especially when there is a pre- and post-interlude NP, it can be a little confusing when part of the same NP information is shown twice. I would just suggest making the Show Info button just show the NP level, overcharge, and additional information since, again, there is redundant information there
Also, just something to consider, could you guys make something to make comparisons between servants easier? Kinda like having a page where you can choose between servants to compare, and their stats and skills would come up. Just a suggestion
Finally, Hans' upgraded 3rd skill is showing twice.

most of what i could have report is alredy being looked at, showing how diligent you guys are. Nice work!
i only have 1 thing thet is bugging me, and no one else talked about this.
I would like for the generetion stats (np and star) to be closer to the hit count.
on pc to see them both the hit count are on the top of the screen and the gen stats are on bottom. on mobile you have to scroll.
No big deal since is not a lot of number, so anyone can do it easly, but i think moving those closer would be a tad more eyes friendly.
you guys can swap place with base stats or reduce it and put it right under the deck, there is a little place there you can use.

Okay, thanks for all the feedback - we'll compile all the information and try to work out some solutions that will address most of the issues related to the profile itself.

Lacking features or servant synergies will take some more time of course, but it's something we aim to work on after the foundation of the profile is done.

For now though, it's getting Shinjuku's content out the door before resuming work on the profile.

Thanks again everyone and we'll no doubt post another news post/Q&A on the next update.
