Named “Lily” for her dress having the appearance of the flower by the same name, Altria Pendragon Lily was a free servant available at the beginning of NA release and was free to obtain (up to NP5) during the Saber Wars event. She is a younger, more naïve incarnation of Altria, and as such, is not as proficient in combat as the other Altrias.
Overall, she has lower durability and damage output when compared to other Sabers. She comes with most of the standard Altria saber skills including Intuition (critical stars for 1 turn) and Mana Burst (Buster damage up), although instead of Charisma she has Journey of the Flowers (Party NP generation up). Although the team NP generation is useful, it is nowhere near powerful enough to justify using her over Saber Alter, Nero or even Siegfried in most circumstances.
She is best suited for farming due to her AoE Buster NP, although she can serve as a stand-in for a Saber class damage dealer if no alternatives are available.
She will later gain an NP Rank Up Quest during the Saber Wars event re-run (eta: January 2020), which will upgrade her Noble Phantasm from rank B to B+.
Decent AoE Damage
Her Buster type Noble Phantasm deals decent damage due to her Mana Burst skill. She also easily reaches NP5 due to being a free event servant during Saber Wars, further boosting her damage. She works well for farming EXP hands.
NP Gain and Critical Star Support
Can provide NP gain and critical damage support to her allies using Intuition and Journey of the Flowers.
Poor Base Stats
For an SR unit, she has base stats more comparable to a silver Servant. Even Siegfried has superior attack compared to her, while also packing a far superior HP stat.
Poor NP Damage
Despite having access to a damage boost, her NP’s damage output is inferior to most of her competitors by a wide margin, due to her low attack stat. For comparison, Saber Alter’s NP does 1.5 times more damage than Lily’s when Lily has all her buffs active without even using her skills.
In spite of her NP’s heal, her durability is absolutely terrible, with a lower base HP stat than Saber Alter (and Saber Alter isn’t exactly a goddess of endurance herself).
Craft Essence Recommendation
Heaven’s Feel: Increases Lily’s mediocre NP damage by 40%(50%), though the damage is still not better than most of her competitors. Thanks to Journey of the Flowers she doesn’t have much issue charging her NP.
Kaleidoscope, Imaginary Element: Allows Lily to NP earlier on in the fight, in case you need her NP’s waveclear immediately. Useful for farming.
Halloween Princess: Increases her NP starting gauge 30%(50%) while also increasing her NP damage by 15%(20%), giving a balance between damage and an earlier NP.
- Limited/Zero Over, Verdant Sound of Destruction: Less focus on Lily’s NP damage, more attention to her regular card damage. No matter how you cut it, her damage output is going to be subpar, but with this CE her NPBB chain will hurt quite a bit, especially if she manages to pick up a crit or two using Intuition.
Level Up Skill Recommendation
Intuition B – Flat critical stars for only one turn isn’t all that great, and like most other Altrias with this skill, Altria Lily lacks the ability to capitalize on critical stars she generated. This skill requires teammates with good critical star absorption to be useful (such as Okita and Gilgamesh) and can be maxed last.
Mana Burst A – Ideally you want to maximize the damage she can deal with her Noble Phantasm, so this skill should be the first priority. At max level, it gives a decent 50% Buster performance boost on a 5-turn cooldown.
Journey of the Flowers EX – This skill provides a decent NP generation boost (up to 20% at max level) to the entire party for three turns. After mana burst, this skill is second priority.
Suggested Servant Synergies
Note: Saber Lily functions pretty similarly to her older selves, and is thus decently self-contained. However, her difference in support comes in the form of swapping Charisma for Journey of Flowers. Additionally, the heal on her Noble Phantasm makes her ever so slightly tankier than Alter.
- Cu Chulainn (F/SN): Given Cu’s legendary survival skills, Lily can support his offensive capabilities by providing up to 20% increased NP gain and critical stars, which help remedy the standard Lancer deck’s lower NP generation from having two Quick cards. Additionally, Lily’s NP will heal herself, giving her deceptively higher hp. If you lack other Sabers against Lancer heavy stages, Lily and Cu can grind out the stage for you.
Ushiwakamaru: Unsurprisingly, Ushiwakamaru also has good synergy with young Altria as well. Stacking Tengu Art of War and Journey of Flowers results in up to 40% teamwide increased NP gain. Likewise, Lily can also generate stars for Ushiwakamaru on demand, and Ushi’s Charisma helps alleviate Lily’s low attack stat slightly.
Gilgamesh: In some kind of odd irony, Lily can support Gilgamesh decently well. Gilgamesh can grab Lily’s stars with Collector EX, and stacking his Golden Rule with Journey of Flowers results in a total of 70% increased NP gain. Additionally, Lily’s NP is good as a start of an NP chain in order to increase Gilgamesh’s overcharge damage against Servants.
