The intensely passionate Kiyohime dons a swimsuit and brandishes a naginata, joining the summer festivities as a Lancer-class single target Buster Servant. Her skill set is similar to that of her Berserker version, but without the Berserker fragility due to her new Lancer class and higher rarity base stats. Similarly, this Kiyohime is heavily focused on dealing damage, which is enhanced by the 1.1x damage bonus for the Lancer class and her 12% EX rank Madness Enhancement.
One of the crucial differences from her Berserker form is that her NP is now single target, and instead has a nearly guaranteed chance to Skill Seal the target for a turn. While she can no longer AoE-farm, the damage dealt by her NP is among the highest for Lancers within the same rarity, making her useful as a primary damage dealer. Her Buster card damage in general is also very high given her EX rank Madness Enhancement, self Buster buff, and guaranteed defense down debuff. Finally, her NP gain is also relatively good if she can pull of an Extra Attack or if a chain starts off with an Arts card. Unfortunately, despite an AoE enemy crit chance down debuff, she still lacks survival abilities and her debuffs are situational.
Overall, Kiyohime (Lancer) is a great single target Buster damage dealer whose skill set is restricted in ways that are similar to her Berserker form.
High ST Damage
Kiyohime ranks the highest in single target Lancer NP damage among SR Servants (assuming no special effect modifiers), despite not ranking the highest in base ATK in her class and rarity. She also does very respectable Buster card damage, with more consistent turn-by-turn damage output due to her 3-turn Buster self buff (+30%). Combined with Madness Enhancement EX (+12% Buster Up) and her Defense debuff (-30%, which is 6% more than her Berserker form), she can get up to a 1.846x multiplier on her Buster attacks, which is very high for what a Servant can accomplish by themselves.
High Extra / Buster Hit Counts
To help offset her mediocre NP gain, she has a high number of hits on her Buster (6) and Extra (5) cards. This assists her NP gain and star generation. Since her Extra attack has a high number of hits, Brave chains starting with Arts cards are encouraged for Kiyohime (Lancer).
Debuff Kit is Situational
Critical Chance Down and Skill Seal are both situational. In the case of Critical Chance Down, its effectiveness is dependent upon RNG, and it does not reduce damage from any other sources besides critical hits. It is worth noting that the enemies you will generally field her against (Archers) have an inherently higher critical rate, which does enhance the practical utility of her first skill. For Skill Seal, it can prevent enemies from using their Evade/Invincibility moves. However, at times an enemy using their skill can be less threatening than one of their auto-attacks (such as some Berserker class enemies), which means Skill Seal can be a double-edged sword.
She no longer has the defense buff skill of her Berserker form and does not have any Evade or Invincibility skills, so she can have trouble surviving an enemy NP turn without assistance. Her defense debuff skill also comes with a demerit of increasing the enemy’s attack by 20%, which can increase the amount of incoming damage if the debuffed enemy isn’t dealt with immediately. Note that the effect of this demerit isn’t as drastic as it is on her Berserker version, as she will usually be fielded in situations where she takes reduced damage via class advantage.
OVERALL: Kiyohime (Lancer)’s main goal is to burn her enemies to a crisp, preferably with her Noble Phantasm. Buster Up / Starting NP / NP Damage Up / Damage Up craft essences work well with her.
- Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / Halloween Princess: These give a bit of starting NP (up to 50% MLB) along with either an attack bonus or NP damage bonus, both of which would stack multiplicatively with Kiyohime (Lancer)’s Buster Up self buff.
- Kaleidoscope / The Imaginary Element: These provide flat starting NP, which can help with getting off an NP early on.
- Limited/Zero Over / Verdant Sound of Destruction: These provide a Buster performance enhancement, which will help enhance both her NP and her Buster card damage output.
Passionate Summer A: Given how situational critical chance debuffs are, this skill can be left for last. The baseline critical chance debuff at level 1 (~20%) is usually more than enough to eliminate critical hits from most enemies in the game, particularly those not of the Assassin class.
Bath Transformation A: Kiyohime (Lancer)’s damage is her selling point, and this skill bolsters her NP and Buster damage, which make this worth leveling. Although a 1% bonus per level isn’t the greatest, it lasts over 3 turns and does not have demerits. Leveling this to max puts it on a 5 turn cooldown, meaning you can have her Buster Up active most of time (3 turns active, 2 turns inactive).
Pursuer of Love A: Leveling this skill is also useful for increasing the defense debuff inflicted, up to a maximum of 30%. The demerit of this skill does not change with levels.
