Craft Essence Recommendation
  • Gudaguda Poster Girl / Halloween Arrangement: Mash is one of the best Servants to have a Taunt CE in the game, thanks to her natural bulk, defensive skillset, lack of class disadvantage and zero party cost. With Gudaguda Poster Girl, she can taunt the enemy team for a total of 4 turns right off the bat (2 with Halloween Arrangement).
  • Prisma Cosmos / Little Halloween Devil / Formal Craft: Mash's Noble Phantasm is incredibly useful, hence any CEs that help her utilize her NP more often is great on her.
  • Iron-Willed Training / Holy Shroud of Magdalene / Maid in Halloween: Improve her tankiness (Maid in Halloween is only useful if the team has a good healer like Medea Lily or Jeanne) which is never a bad thing, although these CEs should be less prioritized than the other CEs above.
Level Up Skill Recommendation

All three of Mashu's skills have immense utility and most players would do themselves a disservice not maxing all three of her skills as soon as possible. Her best skill leveling order is 2 > 1 > 3, focusing on both usefulness and availability.

Her second skill is by far her most useful to max due to its two top-tier support effects of invulnerability and NP charge. This renders it very flexible in its use. Lowering its cooldown to 7 turns and increase the NP charge effect to 20% helps immensely in both farming and hard contents.

After maxing the second skill, her first skill (the party-wide defense buff) should be prioritized due to the overall teamwide impact compared to the taunt. The taunt effect does not directly benefit from increased ranks in the skill. Outside of niche cases, most of the time the marginal benefit of increased NP gain and cooldown on the third skill are outweighed by the more tangible increase in teamwide damage reduction and uptime in the first skill. Lastly, her taunt does not become available until after Chapter 4 of London, furthering the argument for leveling up her available skills.

Suggested Servant Synergies
  • Berserkers: Mash’s defensive skills work perfectly to keep Berserkers alive longer. The defense buff reduces the amount of damage taken, which is invaluable because berserkers take double damage from everyone.  Her second skill makes berserkers invulnerable on top of providing valuable NP charges, which help to alleviate the lower effective NP gain from many berserkers triple Buster deck.  In return, the Berserker will provide a constant source of strong damage with their universal 1.5 times damage multiplier, making up for Mash’s lower attack stat.  Notable examples include Tamamo Cat, who gains extra mileage from damage reduction with her self-heal, and Heracles, who gains another line of defenses in his unkillable kit.
  • Hans Christian Andersen: Mash’s guaranteed defense buffs increase the effective damage reduction from Andersen’s NP healing.  This provides the basis of a strong defensive core to keep a major damage dealer alive.  Additionally, Mash’s invulnerability can help Andersen build his NP whenever his NP charge skill is on cooldown, allowing for increased NP spam.
  • Altria Pendragon: Altria has no defensive skills in her kit, which Mash remedies with her defense buff.  Additionally, with a Kaleidoscope and Mash’s second skill fully leveled, Altria can reach 100% NP charge right off the bat, which is perfect for quick EXP farming.

Why eggplant?

Probably just because of her purple color scheme, but one of the early Learning With Manga pages had her with a label that said "eggplant".

How is she going to be better than other tanks like Chevalier D'eon and Georgios when she gets a taunt that lasts only 1 turn (just like Leonidas but he at least has a 3-turn taunt with his NP)? Is it still called 'tanking' if the tank isn't taking the hits for the team?

After her skill upgrades and such, Mash becomes a powerful defensive utility servant. Although her taunt is still only one turn, her first skill gains a flat damage cut portion and increases defense by 5%. Additionally, her NP2 puts the flat damage cut of her NP from 100 to 550, and her NP upgrade will also provide 30% attack increase to her teammates. Overall, she might not pull aggro for as many turns, but she is the premier defensive buff servant.

She is more like tank+sp, in late game she will be the best, just give her a taunt ce, she is a sheilder so she can tank anything
