Shimousa - Spoiler-free Walkthrough
  • Last updated 10/10 - Walkthrough and Boss Guide are feature complete except Quick Servant Tables.
  • The spoilers in this walkthrough are limited to what enemies you will face in a particular node.
  • Every major boss encounter is initially hidden.
  • Press the New Monster Information or Boss Information headers to see specific spoilers, advice and/or tips.
  • Generally, Shimousa is considered the hardest Pseudo-Singularity due to the difficult Bond Bonus & Forced Main Story Support for bosses. For advice, see the Shimousa Preparation article.
  • Break Bars are a standard feature by now, bosses cannot be cleared within a single turn.
  • Knight Class (Saber, Archer, Lancer) Servants receive double bond points! Unlike previous EoR Singularities, this restriction is much more challenging to adhere to against enemy bosses.
  • General rule of thumb when using a bond bonus team is to be careful around quests marked as hard or very hard.
  • Finally, the filler sections between bosses provide unrestricted support access and are much easier.
  • A full clear requires around 921 AP.
  • Spotted an error, have a question, or ideas to improve the guide? Feel free to drop a comment on the Walkthrough forum thread.
  • It is highly recommended to play this Singularity with the sound on due to the unique Boss Battle Introductions.
  • Have fun and enjoy the story!

A new Monster approaches:
A new Monster approaches:
Our journey begins with 2 new frequently appearing mob types for this Singularity.
Click the New Enemy Information below for specifics.

New Monster Information

Mob Class Drop Notes
Kotan Magatama These Undead/Humanoid/Demonic mobs drop the Refined Magatama items introduced in Shimousa.
They can act three times, apply Sure & Critical Chance Up on self for 3 turns, and at full charge they unleash a strong blow that removes all buffs from the target.
Ghost Lantern A new variant of the, ah, beloved Undead/Demonic ghost-type mobs.
They can act twice, apply a self-buff that applies NP Gain Down on next hit for 5 turns, and at full charge they unleash a medium strength blow that massively reduces NP Gauge per turn for 5 turns.

St. 1 - 2
There will be many instances of these enemy ghosts while clearing this Singularity. For those adhering to the bond bonus, borrowing a Caster is a good idea for most nodes to speed things up. A non-Knight Support has no effect on the Singularity bond bonus!

And so the seven duels begin!
Visit the Boss Guide by clicking on the image above for detailed advice.
Due to Lancer of Purgatorio's class, the first duel should be more than manageable.
Considering his high Critical Hit rate, it is best to end the fight very quickly before he triggers his NP.
Buff Removal counters him completely, so a Musashi NP after his NP shuts him down nicely.

St. 4 - 1

St. 4 - 2
A new Monster approaches:
These filler mobs will show up a lot, but are hardly threatening given their Knight class.

New Monster Information

Mob Class Drop Notes
Seed of Yggdrasil A variant of the minor Demon Boars.
These Demonic Beasts act twice, can either charge their NP Bar or inflict a 500 damage 5-turn poison, on full charge they deal medium-strength damage which also reduces Defense for 3 turns.

St. 5 - 1
Tamamo may stall, but only Kiyohime poses a real threat. Burst her down.

Boss Information

Boss Class Notes

Archer of Inferno's class presents a real problem for Musashi, and Masters are highly advised to use Order Change(or death) to swap her to the back.

Save Debuff Removal for after Breaking her bar to remove her massive 2000 damage AoE Burn debuff.
Note that while the burns grind Servants down slowly, her NP amplifies its effect for a more immediate death.

St. 7 - 1
Forced Musashi only.
Bring a Mystic Code with an offensive buff for Musashi, use a high NP Gain (ABQ) chain and kill one of the clones on turn 1.
Use Fifth Force on turn 2 for Critical Stars and NP Gain.
Fully buff Musashi and blow up Fuuma with an NPBB crit chain.

St. 8 - 1
Masters who stick to the Knight bonus should borrow a (support) Caster to deal with the Assassins quickly.

St. 8 - 2

St. 8 - 3
With a vast amount of HP, this fight can drag on for Knight Class Servants.
Bring/borrow an (ST) Caster, as Assassin Paraiso only use her Extra attack on full NP bar.

St. 9 - 1
Pure Story Chapter.

St. 9 - 2
A new Monster approaches:
These Hydra-family mobs are terrifying, but with only Lancers in this node, Sabers should make short work of this.

New Monster Information

Mob Class Drop Notes
Mysterious Divine Wine A variant of the dangerous Hydra mobs introduced in Agartha that deal AoE attacks on Critical Hit.
These Demonic Giant Beasts act three times, can NP Seal for 1 turn and significantly buff their Attack for 3 turns at once, and at full charge they unleash a devastating AoE Attack that reduces all Card Performance.

St. 9 - 3
Together they have a fair amount of HP, consider bring a (Caster) Support for some extra durability. Typically, remove the Berserker first.

Mochizuki Chiyome Visit the Boss Guide by clicking on the image above for detailed advice.
The difficulty of this fight is vastly different based on whether a Master stick to the bond bonus condition.
Assassin of Paraiso has a permanent self-buff that inflicts -10% Attack Down on each basic Attack, which can stack up.
After Break, she will stun 1 target for 1 turn each turn for 5 turns.

St. 10 - 3
A taste of what is to come, but unlike many of these early boss fights, Masters need to put in some effort to complete the quest.
Break either of their HP Bars to finish the fight, the Berserker naturally being easier to take out.

St. 11 - 1

St. 11 - 2
A new Monster approaches:
Plenty of time to prepare for the Berserker Oni in the final wave with an ST NP.

New Monster Information

Mob Class Drop Notes
Octuplet Twin Crystals A cursed Berserker-type Oni similar to the Oni from Onigashima.
These Demonic, Giant, Humanoids (not Male apparantly) can act up to three times, can inflict an AoE Attack and Defense Down for 3 turns, and on full charge they inflict strong AoE damage that applies 1-time Buff Block.

St. 11 - 3
The mixed classes make charging slightly more difficult, but the Lancer in wave 3 has a lot of HP.

A difficult encounter, and a downright monstrous encounter if Master stick to the bonus bond point conditions.
Raikou drains 5 critical stars per hit, crits hard after Break, and has an AoE NP.
Shuten though, is far worse, her AoE Charm is incredibly powerful, her attack reduce NP Gauge by 10%, and after Break her Debuff Immunity and Debuff Resist Down (on you) can stall the fight and prevent a Master from killing her before she NPs.
Shuten falls faster and is more dangerous with her Berserker class.

Mini Boss Information

Katou Danzou has a significant amount of NP, and there's only a little time amount of time to charge NPs.
Make sure to bring/borrow a (Support) Caster as Katou Danzou's NP is AoE and she is prone to stall via her skills.

St. 14 - 5
Wave 1 and 2 have reinforcements, and wave 3 has a decently strong Orochi.

Another boss fight that, if adhering to the Knight-class condition, becomes very problematic.
Each of the boss's hits can debuff either Healing Reduction, Critical Star Generation Down or NP Gain, in addition to his Defense/NP Gain down skill and 20% NP Drain on charged attack.
The boss even reduces NP Damage for 5 turns after Break.
If possible close this fight out sooner rather than later.

Boss Information

Visit the Boss Guide by clicking on the image above for detailed advice. At last, a proper swordmaster to duel.
Saber of Empireo is a rather nasty fight, and one where throwing Archer at him is actually rather effective!
On hit, Saber of Empireo removes buffs, and actually has Mental Debuff Immunity (so no Charm-locking is possible).
After 1st Break his damage increases for 5 turns, but the fight only changes after Breaking his 2nd HP Bar.
On 2nd Break, only NPs will do more than scratch him, and Master gain a large NP Gain buff to help.

Yorokobe, for it is possible to choose any Support once again.
And then sigh as Amakusa removes all buffs before NP.
While Amakusa is Mental Debuff Immune, Master can still debuff his offense to survive his NP.
He will probably NP once, given his 2 Break Bars.
On 1st Break, he is prone to heavily crit, and after 2nd Break his NP Damage increases.
Fortunately, on each Break the team is buffed with increased Star Generation.
