MMM - Marie, Merrily Migrating to Mediterranean Miracle, Marvels at Massive Mammaries on Majorly-Maligned Maiden (Summer 2025 Part 1)

The Modern Magus Magazine
Boy, if I had a dollar for every time FGO took us to an event that happened on a map in the shape of a person’s face…or body, then I could actually afford to roll gacha on all the banners coming up without dipping into my own funds.
Putting the conspicuously Olga-Marie-Shaped island aside, we have the beginning of yet another Summer event, and I have to say above all else…
Why is Kirei staring at me like that? Oh god, he’s getting closer…run!

Passionlip (Saber)
She’s just as beautiful as the day we lost her. Well, I guess we never had her to begin with, but man Takeiuchi’s stubbornness goes a long way in denying what the fans want, I suppose.
Just be grateful Arco Wada’s art is glorious enough to bring us Passionlip’s swimsuit form. And in spite of the…grandeur of Passionlip’s profile, she’s somehow not the most erotic-looking swimsuit Servant in the first batch, if that’s even possible.
With the huge SSR Saber lineup to compare against, Passionlip’s own size doesn’t exactly aid when it comes to base stats. With the 7th lowest Attack stat and the 6th highest HP, Passionlip is middle of the pack among her class, though her stat spread is worse off than it seems, as many of the Servants lagging behind her HP by 100-200 points have 300-400 Attack points in exchange, a trade that Passionlip would much rather be on the other end of.
Regardless, the Saber class has high stats in general, so she’s not in an awful spot, she just gets the worse end of the HP / Attack split.
In the meantime, her passives do a good job of filling the gap, with her fourfold combo of Magic Resistance, Independent Action, Presence Concealment, and Goddess Core providing a good mix of high Debuff Resistance, minor bonus card damage, increased Star Generation, and higher Critical Damage to use those stars.
In addition to those, Passionlip has her unique passive - Gymnast Ballet, which provides an additional 10% Critical Damage to stack nicely with her other passives, and a minute 2 Critical Stars every turn for being present.
So how does Passionlip shape up, all in all? Well on one hand, she’s got hands (understatement), and she sure isn’t afraid to use ‘em:
- +Despite the appearance of a single-minded Buster gorilla, Passionlip’s Saber form has a lot of team support and utility packaged in. Being able to redirect attacks for multiple turns and convert it into advantage is great, but she also provides team gauge charge, Stun to lock down enemy turns, and persistent buff removal, a perk that’s very convenient to have on an offensive Servant.
- +Passionlip is fairly versatile, either capable of focusing on her own offensive damage output or flipping the toggle on Princess Order, providing a wealth of Critical-based buffs to an ally, which compounded with her other supportive tools allows her to be a decent half-support in a pinch.
However, she also can’t brawl her way out of the arrest for public decency laws after losing her…pouch. That single bag is keeping FGO on the app stores, believe me.
- -As useful as Passionlip’s utility is, it comes at the cost of very lacklustre and finicky offense. When she’s not charging up using her Taunt first or hitting her effective damage trait, which isn’t overwhelmingly common, her damage output isn’t anything exceptional, and her peak damage output doesn’t come often, given two of her skills have a long 9-turn base cooldown, with no means to reduce her skill cooldown as seems common in SSR’s nowadays.
Taking everything into account, Passionlip’s Saber Summer form has a lot of power built into it, but that power is spread out quite wide. It’s not a particularly good thing when a single-target offensive Servant can’t really excel in damage output without a number of conditions, but that’s hardly the whole story.
Passionlip might be lacking offensively, but she gets an absolute host of other benefits to compensate. She can shield her team from single-target damage for multiple turns, she provides a host of utility benefits and team support effects, and the modular nature of Princess Order can really let her adapt to varying situations and team compositions.
With how great Servants like BB Dubai and U-Olga Marie have been for that half-support playstyle, it’s a shame that ultimately Passionlip falls short compared to them, lacking the same power of direct offensive buffs for the team or gauge charge, and what she has instead is certainly useful, but I’m uncertain it really compensates for the flaws she packs elsewhere.
But none of this really detracts from her strong points - she can use her NP both reliably and frequently (for a Buster Servant), her supportive tools and utility effects are all incredibly useful, and she’s not going to disappoint when she’s thrown into a drawn-out fight where she can maximise the power of her supportive tools and Attack Up buff.
She’s not that spectacular on the whole, but with the plethora of tools on hand, and how effectively she can apply them, it’s hard to write Passionlip off, either. She’ll only truly shine in a few specific scenarios, but even outside of those a Servant who can consistently shield the team from damage, dish out her own damage, and provide the team with gauge charge and possibly a hefty critical damage package is nothing to scoff at. You can do much worse for a ST Saber. Rath™ Seal of Approval.
Kriemhild (Rider)
Day by day I ask myself many questions - Is life worth living? Is Extra Record ever actually going to come out? Would I die if I hypothetically got drop-kicked by a tall-ass horse girl, and even then, would it be worth it?
But most important of all those questions is this: Why the hell did Siegfried pass up on a baddie like Kriemhild? Like, hell, she’s full-on Goth GF energy, and this form even shows she can rock both a tongue and belly piercing, sheesh. She even likes sharks and loves to show it. Whether you like her for the fit or the sharks, it’s all the same to me.
Heh, Same. Sharks? Geddit? The world is not worthy of my comedy genius.
As an SR Rider, Kriemhild is largely middle-of-the-pack for base stats, with the exact middle of the road for Attack among her peers, and the 9th-highest HP. No matter how you slice it, she’s balancing out her HP and Attack pretty perfectly, so she’s not exceptional for offense or defense.
She’s not particularly notable on the passives front, either. Her solid Magic Resistance and EX-ranked Riding provide a modicum of Debuff Resistance and a notable boost to her single Quick card aren’t going to impact her performance much, though they’re good perks to have.
So how does Kriemhild appear to the masses? Well on the one hand, she’s truly a villainess with grace, class, and just the right amount of loyal shark knights to bully a Saintess into quitting the young ladies’ academy:
- +Offensively, Kriemhild is pretty well-rounded. Taking advantage of the Rider class’s superb star weight, she can produce stars on the regular with her Charisma skill and also capitalize on them, and at the same time her NP packs a punch with the right support choice. She might not be anything exceptional in terms of NP damage output, but when she’s tackling Lawful foes she really comes into her own, and the regular card damage is nothing to scoff at.
- +Kriemhild is well-equipped for utility, too. Her Invincible buff is a great means to block stray damage and endure incoming enemy NP’s if need be, and her blanket AOE Buff removal is a rare and useful tool to have on hand, even if using it correctly can be awkward given it’s tied to her gauge charger. And naturally, her NP provides every debuff under the sun, making allied debuffs more reliable, and bolstering team damage output and durability alike. I passed over it initially, but the 12 hits on her NP also means it’s solid for star generation outside of the 5 stars it provides inherently.
However, she’s also got to have a sudden change of heart, since if nothing changes…all routes lead to doom!...or a yuri harem. It’s hard to tell with this genre sometimes.
- -Kreimhild’s kit on the whole is rather bare, and it shows. She might have the minimum gauge charge and offensive buffs to be a competent damage dealer, but there’s not that much substance to her besides it, unless you count her Chaotic Servant support capabilities. And even then her damage output isn’t notable without her effective damage bonus.
If I really had to summarise my thoughts, looking at Kriemhild’s Rider form really reminds me…”boy, that’s a Summer Servant with little creativity put in”. Sure, the joke of her NP is pretty fun, but there’s little in the way of unique tools or mechanics that excite you to theorize or play with her.
In terms of functionality, Kriemhild is perfectly fine. She’s ST offense with a fairly wide niche she’s solid at, and a capability for NP looping that you can appreciate if you lack a good offensive Rider. But her utility and individuality outside of that really boils down to debuff stacking using her NP and not much else. The fact she’s going to have to compete with single-target welfare Servants like Kintoki and Ryoma isn’t great, either, even if her kit is fundamentally stronger, since she’ll always lack behind in damage comparably.
To get to the point, Kriemhild is usable, can excel when facing down Lawful foes, and can fill a gap in a Chaotic-servant support role if you really want it, but she’s not anything particularly spectacular, so I’d only recommend pushing yourself to add her to your collection if you love her (admittedly awesome) aesthetic or don’t have many other options for single-target Riders.
Huyan Zhuo (Berserker)
…So let me get this straight. This is a lady with more jiggle than a pack of jello, dressed in a bunny outfit, and she has self-esteem issues so bad she’ll basically do anything to get approval?
And you’re giving her away for free? For free?
Well, and here I was doubting FGO’s capability to compete with the gooner mobile days of the modern era. All it costs is a little bit of disgracing one of China’s greatest mythological heroes. In case you couldn’t guess, I’m not much of a fan of the character concept here, even her original form didn’t really excite me in any aspect, and this feels a step too far.
But hey, we’re here for gameplay, folks.
As an SR Berserker, Huyan’s Summer form is getting the best of offense and the worst of bulk, but among her brethren she’s, yet again, pretty average. With the tied 7th best Attack and tied 4th-worst HP, she’s roughly middle of the pack offensively but scarily frail, even among Berserkers. It’s much better that she’s offensively strong, but naturally she will drop like a fly if exposed, so be wary of that.
As for passives, Huyan packs both incredibly high-ranked Madness Enhancement, providing a solid boost to her Buster cards, and Phantasmal Beast Possession, an existing passive that improves the star attraction of her Buster cards. Certainly not bad traits on a Berserker, even if she’s Quick-focused.
What is there to say for Huyan’s Berserker rendition? On one hand, she’s got the fury of the greatest horses in history empowering her - you could even call her a Professor of Curvature, or a Swinging Maestro, though this specific reference may just be a Mystifying Murmu-
- +There are very few Welfares in the game that can excel in farming, and even fewer that function as universal farmers. In spite of her specific team composition requirements, Huyan is a reliable universal farmer, and can utilize her Berserker class advantage and merciless offense to excellent effect. While she does pretty much require owning Skadi, Summer or her original form, to work, she’s one hell of a beast for farming purposes.
- +Even outside of farming, Huyan’s offensive might does not falter. The combination of her superb star generation, powerful critical damage buffs, and various tools that are functional for difficult content, such as her Stun and Defense pierce, come together to provide dependable offense that isn’t just tied to her NP. But even then, the Lawful-effectiveness at her disposal and her capability to spam her NP means she can really bring the pain in the right circumstance.
However, I’m afraid I also have to neigh-say her capabilities in practice…huh? Huyan, what do you mean, “Mood Down”?
- -While Huyan is generally great at farming and difficult content alike, she does have minor flaws in both situations. Her farming setup is rather rigid and refund-dependent, and can be disrupted by facing enemies with a poor NP gain modifier like Berserkers or Assassins, or just a wave with fewer than 3 enemies, while her critical damage output is only spectacular for a single turn. In drawn out fights, or simply battles with poor card shuffler RNG, it’s possible to miss Huyan’s cards on the ideal crit turn, and subsequently tank her damage.
While I might have my reservations on Huyan’s general character design, I have no real complaints about her gameplay. She excels at the things an AOE Berserker should - being capable of reliable farming loops with exceptionally good damage output, and doing so with the perks of a Welfare means she doesn’t have issues getting Servant coins for append skills, and comes with the free NP5 that makes her damage so great.
But in general the tools in her kit focus on her main game plan - drowning the team in critical stars, and using them for high damage output, while all the same having enough defensive tools and utility options to not be a liability or a one-dimensional NP machine.
So far as Quick AOE offense goes there’s not many better options than Huyan’s Berserker form, and for most people she’s well worth investing in to cover your options. Rath™ Seal of Approval, with a recommendation.
Outro
I have to say, this Summer taking an unusual format for its banners is really building up my workload. As of writing, the second banner with Miyu and Shiki has already come out, and I’m just playing catch up.
On the plus side, it shouldn’t take too long to recover now that the largest batch of 3 Servants is covered, but boy, is immediacy hard to keep up when there’s this much to write.
The summer sun is still high in the sky, so I suppose we’ll all be enduring the heat for a while, see you soon!
