Noble Phantasm

“Don't let Ishtar see me! If she finds out about my current class, she'll definitely, undoubtedly ridicule me mercilessly! I refuse to let her have any more leverage over me! ”
The developers of FGO decided one day that all Servants were too simplistic, and thus: Space Ereshkigal. As an AoE Arts Beast Class with great NP refund, she’d normally be a unique Servant to bring to the battlefield. But due to her Buddy System gauge, she turns from a standard Servant into a Servant who does more for you the more you love her! …seriously.
At her most basic form, Ereshkigal is a good all-rounder. She is great for looping setups thanks to a 20% charge on her Goddess Sugar A skill and another 50% on her Beast Driver B skill. Her survivability is pretty good too with Missing Starling EX’s combination of both invincibility, Guts, and skill cooldown reduction to keep her up and active for longer. But her true power comes from her passive, I I EX which grants her a “Master Favorability Gauge” which causes her power to grow the more a Master uses her in a battle. Thus in drawn out battles she can turn into an absolute machine destroying enemies with massive power. More on this later.
Ereshkigal’s biggest weakness comes from her typing. As a Beast class, she has a special type advantage: Strong against Extra classes (except Avenger), normal damage against normal classes, and weak against Avengers. She rarely will ever have a type advantage as a result. She also is quite reliant on the Buddy System to give large damage with her Noble Phantasm, lacking major damage boosts elsewhere. It should also be noted that if she is brought as a friend support, she does not have a Master Favorability Gauge and loses almost all her benefits as a whole.
Ereshkigal is a complex Servant with lots of features. If a Master knows how to use her she could be a massive asset to a farming party.
ℹ️ Gameplay Tips
Ereshkigal has her Master Affection Gauge which will increase based on the amount of “love” a Master gives to her in a battle. It begins at level 1. In typical usage, it will immediately go to level 2 if a Master has her at bond 5 or higher, and puts her in the starting line. At this point, every 10-points of “love” a Master gives her will increase it one level. Using all 3 of her skills on turn 1 (before any other Servant) will give another 11 points for level 3, and then selecting her cards will push her to level 4. Anything a Master does, be it targeting her with a mystic code spell, a command spell, using one of her skills, or using her Noble Phantasm in overcharge, will increase the gauge.
The gauge at each level gives a bonus 10% damage on the Noble Phantasm which is nice enough, but it also enables more effects. At level 4, she can guarantee instant death of bronze rarity enemies with her Noble Phantasm, at level 7 she gains ignore invincible and ignore defense on her Noble Phantasm, and at level 10 she completely fills up the party’s Crit star pool.
A second Master Tip: Ereshkigal can effectively reset her first and second skills with the Atlas Mystic Code and with her 5th append unlocked. This allows her access to higher Buddy levels earlier.
🟢 Strengths
NP Looping
Beyond having a decent hit-count Arts AoE Noble Phantasm which makes Space Ereshkigal great for looping, she also has two individual charge skills giving a total of 70% charge. In effect she can loop against most all enemy setups as a result.
Staying Power
Space Ereshkigal’s third skill is amazing, giving her both Invincibility and Guts, essentially guaranteeing her survival through most any attacks. Beyond that, it grants a 2-turn cooldown reduction for herself, which when combined with her cooldown reduction append and an Atlas Mystic code could allow her to use her skills twice within three turns.
Star Power
Eresh is a Critical machine, with her 2nd skill giving 100% Crit damage up for a turn along with the stars and absorb power to make sure she will actually land a Critical hit. Once she reaches Buddy Level 10, she fully guarantees Critical hits any turn after she uses her Noble Phantasm.
🔴 Weaknesses
Class Typing
As a Beast Class, Eresh has special damage layouts. Essentially, she will deal 1.5 times damage against non-main Seven classes (except Avenger) and receive 0.5 times from them. Avenger is the exception which she is weak against. Against the main Seven, she deals and receives 1.0 normal damage. This can be a benefit in some cases, such as Berserkers only dealing 1x damage to her, but normally it means she will be vanilla in most fights.
Normal Damage
Space Eresh only has a 20% attack and 20% Noble Phantasm damage up skill on her toolkit, making her reliant on external buffs and her buddy system to dish out damage. When borrowed, she doesn’t even have the buddy system, meaning she’s only going to deal rather weak damage to enemies.
Level Up Skill Recommendations
Space Eresh’s skills are all meant to increase her personal power and abilities, charging up her gauge fast and dishing out some damage. Masters are going to want to make sure to use her first two skills before the third skill so that the third one will reduce the cooldown of the first two, and will want to use her skills on the first turn to boost her Affection Gauge up as soon as possible.
- Goddess Sugar A is a small damage buff skill, giving a 20% attack, 20% Noble Phantasm boost, and 20% gauge boost to the entire party. It also makes most instant deaths impossible against the party and curses the party with a small poison debuff. While it sounds like a support skill, this skill is mainly about making Eresh stronger. This should be leveled second and should be leveled to max, especially if a Master is planning to use her skills twice in a battle.
- Beast Driver B boosts up Eresh’s critical damage and critical gather and gives her a bunch of stars to use for it, making her a 1-turn crit machine. More importantly, it is also her main source of NP gauge charging, with a 50% charge available at max level. Level this with priority and again level it to max especially if planning to use her skills twice in battle.
- Missing Starling EX is an incredible defensive skill, granting multi-hit invincibility, a guts for 3 turns, a heal, debuff removal, and buff removal resist. In longer fights these could become quite valuable. But for shorter ones its main feature is the 2-turn self cooldown reduction. By using this and her 5th append, she can effectively use her skill 1 a second time on turn 2 (+8 Buddy points), and skill 2 a second time on turn 3 (+8 Buddy points) unlocking even higher damage levels on the last wave. This should be leveled last and can be leveled to any level as most of the leveled effects are trivial.
🖼️ Craft Essence Recommendations
Like most damage dealers, Space Ereshkigal benefits from Noble Phantasm Damage Up CEs and Mixed Damage / Starting NP Gauge CEs. But unlike most damage dealers, she also gets a lot of benefit from her Max Bond CE and Overcharge Up CEs due to their aid in reaching higher Affection Levels.
- The Black Grail / Ocean Flier / Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / Holy Night Supper: As a damage dealer, CEs which boost damage are always the best. With proper supports and a Black Grail she can really deal out the damage.
- Epitaph of the Star Sword: Not only does this CE give her a boost to her Noble Phantasm power, but it grants her an instantaneous +1 level to her affection gauge. By having her in the front line and using all her skills first on turn 1, she’d immediately hit affection level 4.
- One Who Wishes for Salvation: This CE and Ereshkigal are like bread and butter. By giving her 2 stages of overcharge up for multiple times, this guarantees her a full level of affection gauge increase every time she uses her Noble Phantasm. This is one of the quickest ways to get her to level 10.
- Inverted Rain of Mud / Duke of Flame / The One Who Withstood Pain / Treasure of the Caribbean: Inverted Rain of Mud is a great option for Space Eresh as it acts as a lesser Black Grail while still increasing her affection level by 1 the first time she uses her Noble Phantasm. The others are great for single-time affection level boosts.
