Noble Phantasm
“I only wish one thing from my wife. Devote everything to me.”
Many Masters hope to summon their waifus in the game, but Morgan decided to flip the script and make the Master her waifu (because obviously Masters should play as Gudako)! Devoting everything to her wife, Morgan serves as a combination AoE Buster Damage Dealer and Support to serve as a jack of all trades. With her skills, Morgan can effectively be deployed in most any node.
Morgan’s wife skills begin with her ability to dish out damage. The combination of her Berserker classing, Charisma of Yearning, and her Madness Enhancement B is strong enough alone, but with the overcharge skill of her Noble Phantasm, Roadless Camelot she finds herself often the best in class against Human attribute enemies, a rather common typing. In addition, her Charisma of Yearning combined with Protection of the Lake C gives her significant charging capacity to enable Buster looping. A sneaky bonus of Morgan’s companionship comes from Protection of the Lake’s targetability, helping her both cast an NP herself and support a ST ally for 90++ nodes.
Now, Morgan does have her shortcomings, but she’s working really hard to overcome them and become a better wife for Master, trust her! For one, there is no getting around her squishy nature as a Berserker. While From the World's End does give her a small Guts, she has no other methods of damage mitigation. Her card set is also fairly poor, losing out on the triple Buster deck bonuses that other Berserkers enjoy. In addition, she may have inconsistent damage as compared to other competitors as her trait is not always applicable.
Morgan is quite useful for nearly all enemy compositions, capable of dishing out high levels of damage. She’s also a fairly loyal wife who… wait. She demands we serve her?! Well, on your knees, Masters, your Queen has come.
🟢 Strengths
Damage
While Morgan does not have the class advantage bonuses of the other 6 main classes, she does have several attributes allowing her to deal out significant damage. While the combination of Charisma of Yearning’s attack buffs and Defense down buffs, along with Madness Enhancement B, are nice, her real strength lies in her Supereffective damage. Against human enemies and all Knights of the Round Table, fae or not, she will deal major bonus damage. Not to mention, her small curse bonus on her Noble Phantasm can then tick to kill Servants who barely survive or have a small guts.
AoE Buster Looping
With Protection of the Lake and Charisma of Yearning both having a 6-turn or less cooldown, Morgan is capable of Buster Looping with a double Koyanskaya setup. It is highly suggested to run with an Oberon for higher damage potential. In a double Koyanskaya and Oberon setup, Morgan will also be able to benefit twice from Thristing Charisma’s attack up and defense down to the enemy, including on the targeted third wave.
Support
Rare for a Berserker, Morgan has significant support potential in a team. Protection of the Lake is a targetable skill, and her Charisma of Yearning buffs the attack of all allies. She also provides a small overcharge boost effect on her Noble Phantasm. In 90++ nodes, where a single target DPS is often required in addition to an AoE, this can be a tremendous boon.
🔴 Weaknesses
Squishy
Morgan is, in the end, a Berserker. While she has a small Guts, it doesn’t change the fact that she takes double damage from almost every class.
Poor Synergy
Morgan’s deck has two Arts cards. Because of this, she is incapable of serving in solo situations with BBB combos. In addition, she will oftentimes serve with Buster support Servants who boost critical rates as well, although she only has two Buster cards to deal the boosted damage with. As her Arts NP gain is standard, her Card kit harms her greatly.
Inconsistent Damage
While her damage is decent in all cases, Morgan’s damage can have a wide damage range depending on whether the enemies hit her trait bonuses or not.
Level Up Skill Recommendations
Morgan has fairly large versatility with her kit thanks to Protection of the Lake’s targetability. Some masters will use all her skills on Morgan herself and use her to Buster loop through farming nodes. Others will use her second skill on another support to get Single Target damage against larger enemies while using Morgan to clear a wave. Her third skill sees the least usage, but is mostly used on the final wave to give Morgan a critical hit or two against a larger boss.
- Charisma of Yearning B is a supercharged Charisma that doesn’t just boost the parties’ Attack, but also gives Morgan herself a 30% charge while debuffing the enemy defense. To make matters better, this is on a 6-turn cooldown, allowing Morgan to cast it on both turns 1 and 3 with a double Koyanskaya setup. Masters are going to want to level this skill to max to take advantage of both the full charge and the cooldown reduction. It makes little difference whether this is raised first or second.
- Protection of the Lake C is a charge skill with a bonus to NP generation rate. This skill’s usage depends on the situation. It can be used to buff Morgan’s gauge, in which case the NP gen is practically useless, or it can be used to buff another Servant’s gauge and help their NP regeneration rate. At a 5-turn cooldown, it is an incredibly powerful skill which can also be used twice. This again should be raised to max for the full charge and cooldown reduction, but makes little difference whether it is raised first or second.
- From the World's End A is a rather odd skill. On one hand, it is meant for long term survival, debuffing enemy crit chance and attack each turn while giving Morgan a small Guts. On the other, it is meant for damage by providing Morgan with a significant amount of stars, boosting her gather rate to collect them, and increasing her Crit Damage. Most enemies should be dead from her Noble Phantasms alone, but this could be worthwhile if the final boss of a node has extra high HP and needs a critical hit or two from Morgan to finish it off. Level this last and to at least level 6 to generate enough stars for Morgan to work with.
🖼️ Craft Essence Recommendations
Morgan’s Craft Essences depend on a Master’s support composition. If a Master can run a composition with Double Koyanskaya and Oberon, or just wants to use Morgan alone without either of them, she fits best with Mixed Starting NP Gauge / NP Damage Up CEs. If a Master wants to run a Double Koyanskaya setup, or one with only a single charging support, she does best with a Starting NP Gauge CE. For nodes where she will be used for less than three waves, she can maximize her damage with a NP Damage Up CE.
- Aerial Drive / Holy Night Supper: Morgan is capable of Buster looping with a double Koyanskaya and Oberon, and a CE with at least a 30% starting charge (plus her Append) and NP damage will maximize her damage against enemies.
- Kaleidoscope: Lacking an Oberon, Morgan can still cast 3 NPs in 3 turns with a Kaleidoscope and a double Vitch, paired with an Atlas Academy mystic code. This could also be used to allow her to cast two Noble Phantasms with any other one 50% charge Servant (including from support).
- The Black Grail: If there are less than two waves, a Black Grail can give her a significant damage boost, especially if Oberon is in the mix.
- Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / Partake with the King / Starry Nights / Dragon’s Meridian: While significantly less effective, Morgan can loop with any 50% starting gauge CE, or cast normal NPs with one.
