Noble Phantasm

“Traffic restrictions lifted. Fire engines, advance! Well done, step back, Master.”
UDK Barghest joins the celebrations of the Summer 2025 event as an Arts Archer. Armed with a water gun, she is capable of utilizing her NP as an AoE or ST attack on demand.
Her third skill, Strike Weather B, provides her with the unique option to select whether her NP will be AoE or single target, in addition to giving her an NP Damage buff and Super Giant trait. To further bolster her offensive performance, she has ATK, Crit Damage, and party HP restoration while attacking provided by her first skill, Protector Knight Alliance A. Interestingly, this skill further adds more ATK buffs and Crit Stars each turn for her, only if a 3 star or lower rarity ally is on the field. She also comes with the ever handy 30% NP charge on her second skill, Queen Keeper A. This skill also doubles as her defensive skill, giving all allies except herself three helpful effects, including 1 turn Invincibility, healing, and 1 turn of Skill Cooldown reduction.
Her NP, Water Save Galatine, buffs her own Arts performance before dealing damage to enemies based on the Master’s selection of AoE or ST. Additionally, it removes offensive buffs, and has a minor demerit of cleansing Burn / Burn damage up debuffs from the enemy. Given its decent hit counts, she is able to loop relatively comfortably, especially with premiere Arts Supports. The ability to swap flexibly between AoE and ST means she can sometimes be helpful to tackle the awkward 3-3-1 enemy lineups, where a stronger hit on a single target might be desirable on later waves. She works particularly well with supports such as Xu Fu, since her low rarity status will allow Barghest to benefit from additional buffs from her first skill. She also has a somewhat niche but relatively unique passive that gives her 5% NP charge every turn on a burning battle field, along with complete immunity to Burn and Burn damage up debuffs, matching her reputation and a fighter of flames.
In practice, Barghest is a decently serviceable as an Arts damage dealer. She does decent damage in both ST and AoE contexts, and although she lacks any trait based bonus damage, her performance against enemies when she has Class Advantage works well enough. Masters who are in need of either an AoE or ST Arts Archer can douse two fires in a single shot with UDK Barghest in their roster.
🟢 Strengths
Option to select Single Target or Area of Effect NP
UDK Barghest’s third skill gives her the ability to select either ST or AoE NP. By default, she starts with an AoE NP, while making a selection will lock that selection in for at least 3 turns. However, it is still worth using her third skill even if an AoE NP is desired due to the NP damage buff it provides.
Decent Looping Performance
With her NP in AoE mode, she loops quite comfortably, and also has a 30% NP charge skill of her own to help supplement her NP refund. She notably refunds even more on burning battlefields due to her 5% NP regen passive.
🔴 Weaknesses
No Self Defensive Skills
Although she has a defensive skill, the invincibility she provides only protects her allies, and not herself. Masters will need to protect her from her own selfless nature with the help of supports if they wish for her to survive a larger hit from the enemy.
Low Rarity Support Preference
Note that this is not necessarily a demerit; in some cases this can be a bonus. Barghest’s first skill gains further benefits from having a 1-3 star rarity Servant on the field with her. This can change party considerations when using UDK Barghest as the primary farmer or damage dealer.
Level Up Skill Recommendations

Since Barghest’s primary role is a damage dealer, and most of her damage comes in the form of burst damage from her NP, maximizing her NP charge from her second skill is highest priority. However, all three skills contribute to her main offensive role to some degree. The general recommended leveling order is 2 > 1 > 3.
- Protector Knight Alliance A – This skill’s ATK and Crit Damage buffs both scale quite well with level, making this a useful skill to invest in for improving Barghest’s overall damage output. This can be leveled second, after her second skill.
- Queen Keeper A – Both the party heal and her self NP charge effects scale with level. In most scenarios, reaching the 30% NP charge mark helps her loop more comfortably with less setup, making it useful to level this skill to max first.
- Strike Weather B – Only the NP Damage buff scales with level for this skill, but since this still helps improve her offensive performance, this is worth leveling. This skill can be left at 6 if materials are a concern.
🖼️ Craft Essence Recommendations

With farming scenarios being her primary use case, UDK Barghest benefits greatly from Starting NP Gauge CEs, as well as Arts Effectiveness, NP Damage, and ATK buffs for her offensive performance.
- Kaleidoscope / Winter Crystal / The Imaginary Element – These starting NP Gauge CEs can help UDK Barghest NP immediately out the gate. A non-MLB Kaleidoscope, or a MLB Winter Crystal / The Imaginary Element are sufficient when combined with her own NP charge skill.
- Ocean Flier / Cradle Song / Battle Olympia / Mission Start / Grand Puppeteer / Chaldea Anniversary / Dive to Blue / Painting Summer / Star’s Day Off / Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / Holy Night Supper – These hybrid NP starter CEs also provide a boost to her offensive performance, in addition to some starting NP Gauge, which work well if additional support is provided to top off her NP Gauge.
- The Black Grail / Heaven's Feel – These are CEs that provide the highest NP Damage boost available. With premiere Arts Support, she is capable of looping with a Black Grail, and these can help greatly with her otherwise low damage.
