Noble Phantasm
“Repent. Be crushed. I beckon the wicked ones, the deceiving ones. Pour oil over your sins, and brand them with a seal. Lord, have mercy.”
Grigori Rasputin and Kotomine Kirei in one, he joins Chaldea as the New Year’s 2025 Servant. He is an AoE Arts Alter Ego damage dealer with a uniquely high durability and bonus damage against Evil enemies.
His skill set contains multiple utility and supportive effects. His first skill, Protection of Faith (Unique) A+, provides an ally with a heal and debuff cleanse, while also buffing his own ATK. His second skill, Malicious Feast A, is his NP Gauge charger, providing himself with up to 50% charge, and any Evil alignment allies with 20% charge. Additionally, all Evil party members including himself gain a small Arts buff, all at the cost of some of his own health. Finally, his flagship skill, Bahloo the Undying EX, provides him with two stacks of Guts. The first stack lasts 1 time across 3 turns, and is guaranteed to succeed with 1 HP revival. The second stack lasts 3 turns but has unlimited uses, instead having up to an 80% chance of success. For every time his Guts activates, his NP damage is buffed for 5 turns, which is stackable, and he additionally applies Taunt to himself for the entire 3 turns. This skill makes him an excellent option to draw fire away from enemies while biding time for a retaliatory NP, and also makes him a decent last stand option.
Rasputin’s NP, Zazhiganiye, Aŋra Mainiiu, deals damage to all enemies, while having supereffective damage against all Evil alignment targets. It additionally further increases his Arts performance before dealing damage, and can inflict Instant Death on any Good alignment enemies. After damage, he inflicts Burn, Curse, and both Burn and Curse Damage Up effects for 3 turns. Given that his NP hits 4 times, he also receives decent refund, which combined with his NP charge skill, give him good looping performance.
Altogether, Rasputin makes for a unique asset to the team as both a tank and damage dealer with a niche against Evil enemies. The debuff clear effect can also come in handy for some challenging quests with gimmicks, and while the damage over time debuffs are much more situational, they can also be useful in rare scenarios. Masters who are willing to abide by this Servant of questionable morality will be well served by his powerful and unique skill set.
🟢 Strengths
Party NP Charge with 50% Charge
In addition to giving himself 50% charge (and having access to an AoE damaging NP), he also provides the entire party with 20% NP gauge provided they are Evil alignment. In the correct team compositions, he can make a multi-damage dealer team composition work much more smoothly.
High Survivability and Taunt
Rasputin’s ability to attract enemy attention to himself while giving himself multiple Guts stacks makes him rather unique. Against enemies with single target attacks, he can potentially stall an entire 3 turns from the enemy with this skill, making him excellent in the taunt, last stand, or solo/grail front roles.
Debuff Clear Utility
Targetable debuff clear from his first skill can come in handy in many challenging quests to remove debilitating debuffs inflicted by the enemy. Its low cooldown also further improves how often he can utilize this skill.
🔴 Weaknesses
Mediocre Damage
Rasputin’s ATK stat is somewhat below average for his rarity and Class, making his overall damage somewhat wanting when not attacking enemies with the Evil alignment. He may need additional offensive support from allies to clear chunkier waves if his supereffective multiplier does not come into play.
Level Up Skill Recommendations
Rasputin’s most important skill to level is arguably his NP charge skill. His remaining skills’ priority can depend on the Masters desired use case for him. His third skill should be prioritized if using him to tank attacks from enemies, while his first skill should be leveled if he is being used for farming instead. For survivability, 2 > 3 > 1. For damage, 2 > 1 > 3.
- Protection of Faith (Unique) A+ – This skill provides the debuff clear, heal, and self ATK buff. Both the heal and ATK buff scale with level, and the cooldown is quite low, making this an attractive skill to level. If more concerned about his offensive output, this skill can be leveled second. Otherwise, it can be left for last.
- Malicious Feast A – His main NP charging skill, where both the self NP charge and party NP charge effects scale well with level. The Arts buff also scales with level, making this the most important skill to level first. If possible, this skill should be maxed if planning to use him regularly, since the 50% NP charge breakpoint can be important for faster NP use with most CEs or Support.
- Bahloo the Undying EX – This is Rasputin’s unique Guts skill. The only effect that scales with level is the chance of success for the unlimited Guts. However, if he is to be used for taunting / survival, leveling this to max to maximize his chances of reviving and subsequently gaining the buffs from Guts activation is best. This should be prioritized second if he will be used as a taunter, while it can be leveled last otherwise.
🖼️ Craft Essence Recommendations
Rasputin is a hybrid damage dealer and tank, and as a result his innate damage can be somewhat low. NP Damage, Arts, and ATK Up CEs make for decent choices, and hybrid Starting NP Gauge CEs also synergize well with his 50% NP charger skill. As a side note, Masters thinking of using the Necromancy CE with him might be disappointed to find that his chance based Guts does not stack with Necromancy, and only one can be active.
- Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / Holy Night Supper / Star’s Day Off / Grand Puppeteer / Dive to Blue / Ocean Flier / New Beginnings / Battle Olympia – These hybrid NP starter CEs also provide a boost to his offensive performance, making them solid choices.
- Kaleidoscope / Winter Crystal / The Imaginary Element – Pure starting NP Gauge CEs that can allow Rasputin to NP earlier. Kaleidoscope can be overkill unless he also has his 2nd Append Skill maxed, which instead allows him to NP immediately and save his NP charge skill for later.
- The Black Grail / Heaven's Feel – These CEs are pure NP damage boosts, and provide a large boost to Rasputin’s damage.
- Iron-Willed Training / Before Awakening – For maximum Yorokobe Shounen factor, these provide Defensive buffs to Rasputin and improve his overall tankiness, and can be good options if using him for solo bouts or as a last stand option.
- Nightless Rose / Star of Altria / Chaldea Lifesavers / Princess of the White Rose / Divine Three-Legged Race / Grudge Match / Bare Kings / Count and Stretch – These are Guts CEs. Note that these should only be used after his 3rd skill rank up! The rank up allows his unlimited Guts to stack with the effect of these CEs. Also note that Necromancy, being chance-based, will not stack with his third skill even after the upgrade, so it is not suggested to use this with him.
