Boss Statistics

Overview

• Face off against Uesugi Kenshin alone in this challenge quest! The boss is a Ruler with 3 HP bars (200k, 347k, 467k HP). Using NPs frequently will be important for dealing with the gimmick of her special damage reduction buffs.
• Kenshin starts with a powerful Bishamonten's Protection buff, which applies flat damage cut of 400,000 and gives her Mental Debuff immunity.
• This buff (including the versions added during Break 1 and Break 2) can be removed by hitting her with an NP. Each NP will remove 1 stack at a time.
• For every 4 times Kenshin is hit with an NP, she will use a skill that instantly charges her NP Gauge to MAX, and gives her a 2-turn NP Damage buff.
• After 1st Break, Kenshin will gain 2 stacks of the Bishamonten's Protection buff. She also gains a buff that gives her 1 extra NP charge whenever hit by an NP.
• Additionally, she helps the party out with +25% NP charge for the party, a small DEF buff, and 1-time 100% Buff Removal Resist. The Buff Removal Resist is particularly helpful since Kenshin's NP effect normally removes buffs before applying damage to a single target.
• Bishamonten's Protection also additional gives both an ATK and DEF buff during her 2nd HP bar.
• After 2nd Break, Kenshin gains 3 stacks of the Bishamonten's Protection buff. She also gains an unremovable Guts (1 time, 50% HP revival), clears all of her debuffs, and now gains 2 NP charge whenever hit by an NP.
• Additionally, she once again gives the party some assistance, this time with +50% NP charge for the party, a small DEF buff, and another 1-time 100% Buff Removal Resist buff.
• Bishamonten's Protection now has additional effects of further DEF buffs, Ignore Invincible, +1 NP charge when normal attacking, and ability to inflict Terror when using her NP.

Team Recommendations

• Avenger ST Damage Dealers are recommended for this battle due to their Class Advantage against the boss. Other options such as Berserkers or Servants with trait-based bonus damage are also good options.
• Additional damage-dealing NP users are also helpful to remove damage reduction buff stacks from the boss. Priority should be given to Servants that can unleash an NP quickly with some type of utility effect (such as order change) or multiple times a turn. Note that if Masters have enough raw power, it can be possible to overcome the flat damage resistance effect and ignore her gimmick.
• Bazett is a notable option because of how she can fire her NP multiple times a turn. This allows Bazett to quickly strip the Bishamonten's Protection stacks off the boss even during the later break bars. In this role, she is not necessarily the primary damage dealer and instead simply is there to remove the damage reduction stacks.
• Servants that can 'order change' after a damage dealing NP are also great choices. Chen Gong, Arash, and Habetrot all fit this role very well.
• Buff Removal Resist Support is extremely helpful in this battle, since the boss's single-target NP has the effect of removing buffs before dealing damage, making any Invincibility / Evade / Guts useless unless buff removal support is available.
• NP Gauge and Damage Supports are helpful as usual, for helping the primary damage dealer take the boss's HP bars down quickly. The usual suspects of Castoria, Lady Avalon, Tamamo, Skadi, Skadi Ruler, Merlin, Koyanskaya, Oberon, Waver, and Reines work well and should be selected to match the damage dealer's card color of choice.
