“Tam Lin Britomart, has answered your summons. May there be glory in your adventures!”
The half human, half fae knightess Britomart joins the roster as an AoE Quick Lancer with an additional niche against Rider Class enemies. Her kit comes with a balance of both offense and utility skills that can come in handy in challenging quests.
Britomart’s NP, Penetrate Bladud, applies the useful Ignore Invincible effect before dealing damage. Additionally, she gets Special ATK damage bonuses against Riding trait enemies, along with Supereffective damage bonuses against Rider Class enemies, essentially giving her full Class Advantage against most Rider enemies as well.
Her skill provide a diverse set of buffs for herself. Offensively, Tam Lin (Fairy Country) C provides her with up to 30% NP Gauge, and both Quick and Buster damage buffs for 3 turns. Virtue of Chastity A is more focused on her critical performance, giving her up to 10 Stars at once, and subsequently up to 10 Stars for the next 3 turns. Additionally, she gains a small Critical Damage boost, and gets 3 turns of Debuff Immunity, which is a long-lasting way to help mitigate potentially crippling debuffs that can be encountered in challenging quests. Finally, Fortress Angela C+ is her primarily defensive skill, providing a 2-time, 3-turn Invincibility, 3 turns of modest NP Gain for herself, and 3 turns of the Critical Rate Resistance buff, which helps reduce the likelihood of taking a critical hit from enemies.
Britomart’s most unique point is her ability to work as an effective damage dealer for both Archer and Rider enemies, having effective Class Advantage against both. Her damage, however, is somewhat middling otherwise, partly due to the split across defense, crit, and damage across her skills and only having one direct damage buff of her own aside from trait-based damage boosts. She benefits greatly from the presence of premiere Quick supports such as Skadi, however, and makes for a very effective farmer for any Archer/Rider/Berserker waves, capable of looping relatively comfortably. She also comes clad in some of the coolest armor around!
🟢 Strengths
Dual Archer and Rider Advantage
Due to her special + supereffective modifiers on her NP, Britomart works as a great damage dealer against both Archer and Rider waves. If Masters are lacking options to tackle either of the two (either other good Lancers or Assassins), Britomart slots in for the role effectively.
Debuff Immunity / Ignore Invincibility
Many challenging quests come with enemies that either apply hard defensive options to themselves, or inflict debilitating debuffs on the party. Britomart’s NP always applies Ignore Invincible before damage, effectively ensuring any of the hard defensive options are pierced. She also comes with a 3-turn Debuff Immunity skill, which is on the longer end and allows her to remain unhindered by debuffs from enemies for a long period of time.
🔴 Weaknesses
Middling Damage
Britomart only has a single 30% Quick Card buff in her kit to boost her own NP Damage, so her burst damage output isn’t particularly the greatest. When looking at her kit, an entire skill dedicated to critical damage lends to her playstyle being a mix of utilizing her NP and then capitalizing on the Stars generated from her NP to deal damaging Crits on the following turn. However, this does mean that she can have trouble clearing some waves that aren’t her advantageous Class targets.
Level Up Skill Recommendations
Britomart, being primarily damage focused Servant, benefits the most from the damage buffs of her third skill, which also happens to provide her with her NP charge. When using her for farming, her first skill’s NP Gain buff can come in handy, whereas for longer battles or challenging quests, the Critical performance from her second skill can be more useful. In most use cases, the skill order recommendation is 3 > 1 > 2, only if the Critical performance is desirable, the order might be 3 > 2 > 1.
- Fortress Angela C+ – Britomart’s primarily defensive skill, the greatest value that comes from leveling this skill comes from the NP Gain buff. To help improve refund from her NP for looping purposes, this can be leveled second.
- Virtue of Chastity A – This is her Critical damage focused skill that comes with a Debuff Immune effect. Only the Star gain and Crit Damage-related effects change with level. This skill in most scenarios can be left for last.
- Tam Lin (Fairy Country) C – Britomart’s main NP charge and damage boost skill, all effects improve with level. This is the highest priority skill to level, and is most effective when maxed out (for 30% NP charge).
🖼️ Craft Essence Recommendations
Britomart generally wants to deal damage with her AoE NP in farming contexts, so Starting NP Gauge CEs are most helpful to her. Other CEs that also provide Quick, Attack, or NP Damage buffs are all helpful. Pure damage boost CEs can also be useful, since with the right setup and supports, Britomart can still loop her NP for three turns.
- Holy Night Supper / Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / Knights of Marines / Crimson Teacher's Pointer / Traces of Christmases Past / Star's Day Off / Cherry Icicle / One Summer / Mission Start / Imaginary Number Attribute – Hybrid damage / starting NP Gauge CEs that provide helpful buffs to Britomart’s performance. Note that Holy Night Supper and Golden Sumo provide NP Damage and ATK buffs respectively, which are buff types not covered by Britomart’s own kit, so these provide a multiplicative boost to her damage rather than an additive one, making them good choices.
- Kaleidoscope / The Imaginary Element / Winter Crystal – For easier access to her NP, these pure NP Gauge starting CEs are a better choice. A non-MLB version of Kaleidoscope, or MLB copies of Imaginary Element / Winter Crystal can give her an immediate NP when combined with her third skill.
- The Black Grail / Heaven's Feel – These CEs are pure NP damage boosts, giving Britomart the largest NP damage buff available if pure damage is desired. She is capable of looping with 3x Skadi supports and Black Grail, provided her Append Skill 2 is maxed along with her third skill.
