“……Master. I wish that your desire is a good one.”
A Child of God from a parallel world capable of granting people’s wishes, Miyu became a magical girl through her contract with the Kaleidostick Magical Sapphire. This dual nature is featured in her skillset, which involves both the buffing of her own combat capabilities as well as support-oriented ones.
Miyu’s greatest strength unsurprisingly lies on the side of support, particularly the strong 30% NP Charge of God Child's Wish, a skill which also increases an ally’s Buff Success Rate for 3 turns. Further pushing this supporting side is her NP Wish Upon a Star, which applies the buff Protection of Sakatsuki, granting party-wide HP recovery as well as NP and star generation for three turns, at the cost of 3000 HP. With the passive skill Infinite Magical Energy providing 4% NP charge per turn and with the help of Cheerful Model Mystic Code (Younger Sister)’s Arts Performance buff, Miyu’s NP gain is one of her stronger points, allowing easier access to her NP.
Unfortunately, what support potential Miyu has is crippled by her NP’s heavy HP demerit, which puts a limit on how many times it can be used and results in poor long-term survivability; while the Guts from Girl’s Willpower does help to an extent, it can only do so once. To add insult to injury, Miyu’s two self-enhancing skills mean that she has little else to offer the team outside of her above-average targetable NP Charge, which most of the time is not enough to justify bringing her over other available options.
Admittedly, Miyu’s severe weaknesses do leave her as one of the weaker 4-star Servants, but her kit does have a silver lining, which is the NP Charge from her third skill and NP. Parties with a lot of healing capability can help overcome her demerit and even benefit from her NP Charge support, and in that manner have their wishes fulfilled by the Child of God.
🟢 Strengths
Targetable NP Charge
A targetable NP Charge can be very powerful when utilized with switch-in strategies. God Child’s Wish offers a higher amount of NP Charge compared to most of its peers, and is thus able to help fully charge an ally’s NP gauge in more situations compared to them. For example, a 50% starting NP CE complemented by a Servant’s (rather common) innate 20% charge would reach 100% with Miyu’s assistance.
Good NP Gain
With three Arts cards, a passive skill granting 4% NP Charge per turn, as well as Arts Performance buff from her first skill and further NP Charge (30% over 3 turns) from her NP, Miyu gains NP at a very respectable rate, even without considering her third skill. Indeed, if not for the limitation put by the NP’s demerit, this quality would have allowed her to spam her NP to an extent, in turn increasing the overall NP charge received by her allies.
🔴 Weaknesses
Heavy NP Demerit
The 3000 HP demerit from Wish Upon a Star dwarfs that of its heal, which creates a problem where using the NP results in a total decrease to Miyu’s HP even if the NP were to finish its full duration, unless she is NP5. This decrease of HP will continuously stack up the more the NP is used, making the chance of her getting one-shotted by enemy attacks grow more likely as the fight goes on.
Conflicting Skillset
Miyu’s skillset attempts to both enhance her own performance and provide support at the same time, but ends up not going far enough in either direction for it to be worthwhile. As a result, she is rarely, if ever the best option in any given situation, as her more specialized competitors tend to offer more to the party.
Level Up Skill Recommendations
As a support, only Miyu’s third skill is directly relevant to her role, and as such it should be leveled as much as possible. Having the other two skills leveled can be useful in certain situations, but generally speaking, it is fine to leave them at lower levels (particularly for her second skill).
- With 3-turn, 30% Arts Performance and Critical Strength buffs at max level, Cheerful Model Mystic Code (Younger Sister) A is actually quite generous in terms of magnitude. While its lack of synergy with the rest of Miyu’s kit makes it less useful, the Arts Performance buff does bring more NP gain and damage to the table, and Miyu’s criticals when they do happen will deal a respectable amount of damage. This skill should be leveled second.
- Girl’s Willpower B applies Guts and Debuff Immune effects on Miyu, which have one use and last for three turns. While the Guts does provide more HP upon resurrection when leveled, it alone is not enough to justify leveling this skill over the other two. As such, this skill should be leveled last.
- God Child's Wish EX is easily the most noticeable of Miyu’s skills thanks to its targetable NP Charge. Leveling this skill increases the effectiveness of both said NP Charge as well as the Buff Success Rate buff it provides, which can make all the difference for NP looping farming teams in certain situations. This skill should be leveled first.
🖼️ Craft Essence Recommendations
In order to deal with Miyu’s HP demerit, she can be equipped with HP Recovery per Turn or Recovery Amount Up effects. She also benefits from NP Charge-related effects, be it Starting NP Gauge, NP Charge per Turn, even Arts Performance Up and NP Gain Up. Being a Servant who can be utilized with switch-in strategies, Start Crit Star and Ally Buster Up at Start CEs are also good choices.
- Mikotto! Bride Training / Moon Goddess' Bath: These CEs provide a set amount of HP every turn, thereby helping to mitigate the demerit of Miyu’s NP. They are best used when Miyu is fielded as a support in potentially longer fights.
- Maid in Halloween / Present for my Master: The benefit provided HP Recovery Amount Up CEs scales with the amount of heals provided to the party. Therefore, they can outweigh the first category in terms of overall healing if an ally with strong healing capabilities is brought along.
- Kaleidoscope / The Imaginary Element / Little Halloween Devil / Magical Girl of Sapphire / The Scholars of Chaldea: These CEs provide a good amount of Starting NP, with some also providing other, longer-term benefits. They can be used in shorter fights where the NP Charge from Miyu’s NP is needed early on.
- Ox-Demon King / Golden Captures the Carp: These CEs should be used when Miyu is utilized in a switch-in composition, allowing her to provide other offensive benefits to complement her NP Charge.
