“L-love is heavy…”
Artemis's beloved, Orion, finally appears as himself in a form transcending humanity with the introduction of the Atlantis Lostbelt. As an Arts NP Archer, he has an array of self buffs that give him a unique but highly effective focus on Card damage.
Super Orion packs a large amount damage steroids for his cards, particularly for his three Buster cards. Stout Arm of Brutality provides him with a potent, 1-turn Buster and Demonic/Wild Beast bonus damage buff, while Tri-Star Archer give him a buff to Star Gather Rate and the ability to stack Critical Damage buffs with his Buster hits. Moon Goddess's Pressure also provides 3 turns of a small attack boost, along with a burst of Critical Stars and Guts, acting as his primary defensive option. Most notably, his NP, Artemis Agnós, does not do damage, but instead gives him a huge Critical Damage buff, a larger attack buff, generates stars each turn, and applies both Ignore Invincible and Debuff Immunity, all of which last three turns.
He has quite decent NP Gain with a 3-hit Arts Card, albeit he only has one Arts Card aside from his NP in his deck. If he lands multiple crits with an NPQA chain, he can nearly fully replenish his NP Gauge and also generate a handsome number of stars. However, he does require his cards to be available to fully take advantage of his buffs. Additionally, defensively, aside from his Guts skill and the Debuff Immunity provided by his NP, he will have to rely on allies for hard defensive measures. For the most part, however, this is not a huge detriment to his performance.
Overall, Super Orion creates a niche for himself as one of the first fully card damage-focused damage dealers, capable of dealing NP-level damage with his normal card hits. He comes in handy for many challenging encounters, particularly those in which enemies have gimmicks that mitigate NP damage, although even outside those encounters he can decimate enemies with ease. Masters would be in good company to begin the hunt with Super Orion. Just make sure it's not a hunt for ladies, lest he draw the ever-watchful gaze of his beloved Artemis.
🟢 Strengths
High Crit Damage
Capable of reaching more than +200% Crit Damage, +50% Buster, +50% ATK, and providing himself with stars and increased star gather rate, Super Orion's cards will hurt with his buffs active. This is greatly helped by his BBB Buster deck. Moreover, if he is capable of getting his NP off more than once (which can be likely if he gets an Arts crit), the Crit damage and ATK buffs will stack further given they last three turns. He often ends up out-damaging competing single target NP Servants with his cards alone, especially if he can land a Brave chain. If in need of damage, Super Orion has it covered.
Debuff Immunity
His NP provides him with 3 full turns of Debuff Immunity, which can help his shrug off otherwise debilitating effects from enemies. This makes him particularly useful in challenge quests where enemies may unleash an onslaught of undesirable debuffs, which Orion can essentially ignore once he gets his NP up.
🔴 Weaknesses
Requires Card Availability
Due to Super Orion's NP simply providing buffs without dealing damage, he requires his Cards to be available to take advantage of the buffs provided by his kit. If at least one other Servant is fielded, it's possible that his cards may not be available, which can make it more difficult to reach his full damage potential. Thankfully, many of his powerful buffs will last three turns, and his cards will come up by the time three turns pass, although there is a possibility they may not be available during a critical moment.
No Hard Defensive Option
Although he has Guts, and a passive damage cut, he does not have a hard defensive option. If an enemy is about to unleash a powerful NP, Super Orion will have to rely on allies to provide damage mitigation options or otherwise need to consume his Guts skill, which also is tied to his Star generation and ATK buffs.
Level Up Skill Recommendations
All of Super Orion's skills are helpful to level to some extent, as they all have a component that enhances his offense. For Masters wishing to get the most out of Superhuman Orion, eventually they will want to level all of them to max. However, if materials are scarce, certain skills are arguably more useful to prioritize.
- Stout Arm of Brutality B+ – This skill provides 1-turn buffs to his Buster damage, as well as bonus damage against Demonic and Wild Beast trait enemies. Both of the effects scale modestly well with leveling, and this skill is absolutely worth leveling. However, its 1-turn duration makes it a slightly lower priority compared to his third skill.
- Moon Goddess's Pressure EX – Orion's primary defensive measure lies with this skill's Guts, whose HP recovery scales with level. In addition, the skill also provides an ATK boost and critical stars, both of which also scale mildly with level. The offensive return on investment for this skill is not quite as high as the others, although it is still worth leveling as the damage buff and increase in critical consistency via more stars is welcome.
- Tri-Star Archer A+ – Critical damage is this skill's other name; at max level, every time Orion uses a Buster Card, he will gain a +100% Crit damage buff (up to 3 times, at max +300% Crit damage, although it lasts 1 turn so in practice the max would be 200% from the skill alone, since the buff activates after hit). In addition, this skill also provides him with a Star Gather Rate buff. Both the Gather Rate and Crit damage buffs scale very well with level, making this skill the first priority to level.
🖼️ Craft Essence Recommendations
Super Orion benefits from Craft Essences that can provide bonuses to Buster Damage, Critical Damage, or Star Generation. Starting NP Gauge Craft Essences can also be useful to help him gain access to stars and ATK/Crit damage buffs earlier. Additionally, Ignore DEF CEs can also be handy on him, to deal with cases where enemies may have defensive buffs.
- Hero on the Beach: This CE is particularly handy as it gives all of Buster, Crit Damage, and Stars per turn, complimenting Super Orion's primary sources of damage well.
- Victor of the Moon / Joint Recital / Bestia del Sol: These CEs provide a mix of Buster and Critical damage boost, both of which benefit Super Orion's overall offensive power.
- Hot Spring Under the Moon / Water Shine: These provide both Critical damage buffs and Stars per turn, which help enhance the Critical performance aspect of Orion's kit.
- Limited/Zero Over / Verdant Sound of Destruction: These provide a pure buff to Buster damage, which is still effective for Orion given his three Buster cards in deck.
- Partake with the King / Starry Nights / Round and Round / Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / First Sunrise / Battle Olympia: These CEs provide a hybrid of starting NP and an offensive buff of either Buster or Attack, if Masters wish to bring his NP out sooner than later.
- Child of Atlas: Equipping this CE permanently grants Ignore DEF, which can also come in handy for Super Orion when facing enemies that have strong defensive buffs.
