Noble Phantasm

"I have no intention of obeying others, nor will I make others obey me. I've been taught that for a witch, everything in the world is either a tool or not."
Alice Kuonji is more than meets the eye. As the magic teacher of the legendary Aozaki Aoko and a descendant of the First Magician, Yumina, she is a significant figure among modern magi, not to be underestimated, even as a living human surrounded by powerful Servants. In Fate/Grand Order, Alice brings fairy tale monsters to life on the battlefield through her "Ploy" mechanic, making her an AoE Quick Damage Dealer with a surprising degree of survivability built into her kit, enabling her to hold her own in even the toughest encounters.
Alice stands out from most Servants with some particularly interesting passive skills. Beyond the standard Territory Creation and Item Construction passives common to Casters, she brings two unique ones to the table. The first passive, Folklore Protection B, grants a small 400 Damage Cut buff, and an additional 400 Damage Cut specifically against Damage-over-Time effects like Poison, Burn, and Curse. The second, Yumina C, provides a 5-stack Guts against Instant Death effects, restoring 2,000 HP each time one of those Guts triggers. Most importantly, Yumina C also grants her 13 stacks of [Robin Counter], a resource central to her third and most impactful skill.
Her first skill - Diddle Diddle - Banquet of the Night A - has four very simple, but strong effects. On a 6-turn cooldown at max level, this skill increases her Quick and Arts cards’ effectiveness by a moderate amount, a whopping 50% NP Gauge, and a teamwide NP Generation boost. Thames Troll - Giant of the Bridge C increases her Attack and Defense for 3 turns, and then further increases her Attack and Defense if the battlefield is either [Forest], [City], or [Darkness], two of which are relatively common. Finally, Lost Robin Rondo - Killing of the Robin E is one of the most unique skills in the game. This skill is only usable when she has a [Robin Counter] stack, which means at most Alice can only use this 13 times a battle. At a 2-turn cooldown when maxed, Masters can activate this skill every other turn. When used, Alice consumes 1 stack of [Robin Counter] to grant herself a one-time Substitute buff lasting 2 turns and charges her NP Gauge by 20%. Substitute functions similarly to Invincibility or Evade as a defensive buff, but with one key distinction: it cannot be stripped by any form of debuff removal.
Alice's Noble Phantasm, Great Three, Flat Snark A+, is an AoE Quick attack packed with effects. It deals bonus damage against [Human] attribute enemies, and before the hit lands, Alice gains Sure Hit for 1 turn alongside a 30% special attack boost against enemies with the [Human] trait. After damage is dealt, all enemies are hit with two debuffs: a 20% Critical Rate reduction lasting 3 turns, and a Terror debuff that carries a 60% chance to stun each enemy for 1 turn, re-rolling over 3 turns.
For an AoE attacker, Alice is remarkably durable. Her kit is stacked with defensive tools tailored to counter common gimmicks: a persistent Substitute effect, Damage Cut against Damage-over-Time, a strong Defense buff, and Guts that activates in response to Instant Death effects. On top of that, her Noble Phantasm can repeatedly inflict Terror on all enemies, which is a consistent source of team-wide survivability by keeping enemy actions in check.
Alice is no slouch offensively, either. Her kit offers a generous amount of staggered NP Gauge Charge, letting her loop her Noble Phantasm with relative ease as the primary Damage Dealer in a Quick team, and she hits especially hard against enemies with the [Human] attribute that are commonly encountered. This combination of sustained offense and defensive utility makes her effective in both farming and challenge quest scenarios.
Alice's most significant weakness is her damage output against non-[Human] attribute enemies. As a Caster, she already suffers from a reduced Attack multiplier, and her self-buffs don't offer especially high values, meaning she leans heavily on her supereffective damage modifier to hit hard. The AoE Quick Looper role is a crowded one, with many Servants offering more consistent damage in farming scenarios, particularly on high-level event nodes. Quick teams also lack the strong defensive support options available to other archetypes, which limits how effectively Alice's survivability tools can be complemented in challenge quests, putting her at a slight disadvantage compared to specialists who can take full advantage of Arts support Servants
Overall, Alice is a well-rounded Servant with genuine value in both farming and challenge quests. The [Human] attribute is common enough that she hits hard in most everyday scenarios, and her ability to counter boss gimmicks is an underrated strength that few modern Servants can match. Any Master lucky enough to have her will find a reliable and versatile ally capable of carrying her weight across a wide range of content.
🟢 Strengths
Amazing Durability and Utility for Challenge Quest
Alice is exceptionally durable in Challenge Quests, thanks to her layered defensive toolkit. The constant uptime on her third skill alone makes her difficult to pin down. Still, she also brings a remarkable number of tools to counter the gimmicks bosses commonly rely on: reduced Damage-over-Time, teamwide Critical Rate reduction, Sure Hit, Guts against Instant Death, HP recovery on Guts trigger, and repeated application of teamwide Terror debuffs. Very few Servants can match the sheer breadth of Alice's toolkit when she steps in as the main damage dealer in high-difficulty content.
Great NP Spamming Capability
With Skills 1 and 3 together providing a substantial 70% NP Gauge on the first turn, and a total of 90% over 3 turns, Alice has more than enough charge to function as a farmer in Quick teams, even with her targets being primarily Assassins and Berserkers, who offer lower NP Generation. She may still struggle on irregular nodes with only 1 or 2 enemies in a wave, but this is less a flaw unique to Alice and more an endemic limitation shared by most Quick and Arts loopers.
🔴 Weaknesses
Mediocre Damage When Not Fighting [Human] Attribute Enemies
Alice relies heavily on her anti-trait bonus to deal meaningful damage, which is a consequence of both the Caster class's inherently lower Attack modifier and her self-buffs being somewhat modest compared to other Damage Dealers. This is a notable limitation in practice, as there are often stronger options for raw firepower when facing non-[Human] enemies.
Level Up Skill Recommendations

While all of Alice's skills pull their weight, her first and third are by far the most critical. She depends heavily on the NP Gauge charge they provide, and in the case of her third skill, the reduced cooldown is essential to keeping her kit running smoothly.
- Diddle Diddle - Banquet of the Night A: All buffs from this skill scale with level, with the NP Gauge Charge being the most impactful for her overall performance.
- Thames Troll - Giant of the Bridge C: A decent skill, though its secondary buff is conditional on the battlefield state, making it noticeably less valuable than her other two.
- Lost Robin Rondo - Killing of the Robin E: Leveling this skill benefits Alice in two ways. The reduced cooldown lets her activate it every other turn, significantly boosting both her NP Gauge Charge and survivability, while the NP Gauge scaling at higher levels makes it one of her most essential skills to invest in.
🖼️ Craft Essence Recommendations
Alice benefits most from offensive stats, namely Attack Up, Quick Damage Up, and most impactfully, NP Damage Up, which she does not have innately in her kit. Starting NP Gauge is also valuable, offering greater flexibility in teammate selection and a strong head start in farming scenarios.
- Traces of Christmases Past / Golden Sumo: Boulder Tournament / Knights of Marines / Cherry Icicle / Holy Night Supper: Solid 50% Starting NP Gauge options with generic offensive buffs, most of which are readily available through events. As a general rule, any Craft Essence combining Starting NP Gauge with Quick Performance, Attack, or NP Damage is worth considering.
- The Black Grail / Inverted Rain of Mud / Heaven's Feel: The top choices for maximizing raw damage output, particularly when paired with Oberon.
